Vehicle description

I am not a dealer. I am a AMC enthusiast and love these cars. I attend the AMC meets and know quite about these cars and have had many over the years. This is a 1979 AMC Spirit GT in Russet Red. It was a 304 4 speed car. It is now a 360 / 5 speed car. Here is a pristine rust-free example that is great looking and fun to drive. Here is what has been done to her: Fresh 360 engine rebuilt with fewer than 5K miles Rebuilt World Class T5 transmission New Shocks New Brakes New Griffin radiator with electric fan. Keeps it at 170 on hot days New mini starter Rebuilt instrument cluster AC system is new and works great Fresh tune up this spring New Magnaflow exhaust with chrome tips New Halogens New Grant steering wheel Jet Hot coated HEADERS! New Bosch Fog Lights; Period correct and NOS when I put them on Very Nice undercarriage Very Nice engine compartment 360 engine with Torker intake and 600cfm carb These cars typically have worn leaf springs. This car has a set of NEW EATON leaf springs I also rebuilt the Rear end. It now has 3:15 posi with new Mosher axles Paint is a 9 out of 10 Interior Is an 8 out of a 10 with a little fade in the rear carpet Center counsel gauges track voltage/Temp/Oil Pressure and vacuum Wheels and tires have 1000 miles on them. When I bought this car; I drove it 1000 miles home. I have since driven it to Chicago twice. It is very reliable, and It is a great cruiser. The only issues with the car are as follows: In reverse if you turn the tires to tight the front hit the mud flap. Need to fix the horn. I do have the Grant Steering wheel adapter kit for that job. That is about it. A pretty sorted great driving car. The History of the car as I know it. An older gentleman owned the car and left it in Florida where it spent much of it life. He traveled between FL and the East Coast. I did find the dealer plate under the rear seat of the car; so, we can trace it Florida when new. It then went to a former AMC mechanic who built the engine and transmission. He sold it to a gentleman in Boston who sold it to me. I then did all the rest of the upgrades and work to the car. If you were to build this car today it would cost nearly 20K if you did much of the work yourself. So; I am going to start this car at less than half of what is in it. No reserve in this auction.
