Vehicle description

About this vehicle This 1979 AMC Pacer is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle needs work and is not regularly driven. Seller"s Notes Buyer responsible for pick up / delivery Vehicle Details This car is a project. It is original as far as I can tell besides the hatchback. That appears to be a slightly different shade of brown. The power windows, locks, headlights, etc work, but there is a poor electrical connection in the steering column that cuts off power when the wheel is straight. Shouldn’t be a big deal to deal with, but I have not attempted to look into it at all. Drivetrain is all there, but I do not know if they need major or minor work. I have not attempted to start the engine as it has one spark plug removed, a small hole in the side of the oil pan, and the transmission pan has been removed. So clearly a previous owner was doing something and did not finish. I did not plan on using this drivetrain when I made plans for it, so I did not bother to try to figure out anything. The interior looks its age. The body isn’t in bad shape. The glass is all intact and free of chips or cracks. The trim has a few missing pieces as you can see from the photos. It has a couple rust spots, I have included pictures of all the spots I am aware of. The rear hatch has rust around the sill. The roof has the two back corners rusting, presumably where the roof rack sat. There’s a couple other spots below the windshield that aren’t too bad. Probably had standing water sitting for a while there. The floor and underbody are solid with only some surface rust. I am trying to list all the negatives I can think of because the positives are pretty self explanatory. It has no special upgrades or work done to it that would be valuable besides having fresh (couple months) tires on to make it movable. It’s basically just a old, rare Pacer that needs restoration. I am not into Pacers enough to make it worth my time and money. I am hoping to find someone who can appreciate this old, rare car because I know there are people out there that do, and it would be a shame to see this thing scrapped. Apparently not many Limited’s were made, so it would be nice to see somebody save this one. Exterior Interior Engine Download the Motors app
