Vehicle description

1978 Firebird Trans Am
Car garaged for many years until the previous owner passed, I purchased from his family.
At some point motor was swapped for a 1979 403 6.6l family was unable to provide any reason of details regarding engine swap.
This is a really solid base for a light Restoration, or a perfect daily driver.
I"ve done a lot of maintenance and upgrading to make this old bird roadworthy over the last couple of months.
What I’ve done so far:
- Brand new rebuilt Rochester carb
- brand new rebuilt 700r4 Transmission w/ warranty
- a/c system recharged
- new rear tires on Racing Mags
- all fluids flushed, all filters changed.
The original Paint is in good shape, it does some spots that need attention, mostly on the plastic bumper pieces. Cleans up nice, and still presents well.
No major dents. No rust or anything like that
Interio r
- original and in fair condition, and shows signs of wear. - Door Panel foam is starting go under leather/vinyl not too bad, but worth noting. - Dash covered with leather pad, it is a nicer one, and it presents well. - Needs a new A/C duct piece passenger side beneath glove box. - armrests need new mounting hardware.
Mechanical
The new carb + New 700r4 Transmission with OD makes it a blast to drive, Especially on the interstate - Barks tires easily. . if you"re into that.
Brakes will need attention soon, squeaking every now and then, and the pedal has started to go a bit soft. This was next to do on my list.
All in all - a great little California survivor - tons of fun to drive.
Please feel free to ask any questions, I will answer them to the best of my ability.
thanks!
