Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1978 Mercury Marquis is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives. Seller"s Notes This is a great car and it needs to go to someone that is going to take good care of it. Good luck! Vehicle Details 78 Mercury Marquis. Edelbrock performer 400 intake, new street demon 625 carburetor installed earlier this year, I just had the calipers and rotors replaced as well as the wheel bearings and alignment (I have the receipt from les schwab- was over $600.00) Runs and drives great. It will be even better with a tune up. I bought this car intending to put some wire wheels on it and Take it to Car shows and stuff. But I've got two torn discs in my back from a car accident and need lumbar support. I start it and run it for 10-15 minutes every week but that's just to keep it up and in shape. Prior owner was adamant that the miles are original at 36,000 but I believe that the miles are 136,000. There are no issues with the differential or universal joints. Transmission shifts smooth - Plenty of torque. Transmission was serviced about 10,000 miles ago along with the differential and some other stuff. I had the original owner manual and original warranty card as well as original window sticker And I am certain that I did not throw it out. I'll include it as soon as I find it Huge difference with the intake and carburetor installed. Air-conditioning was serviced within the past 5 years and blows ice cold. I just had the oil changed and the radiator completely flushed out at a Jiffy Lube. I had all of the fittings greased. All four tires are in great shape. There are 3 inch wheel spacers on the back which I will remove prior to the sale. I had a set of Monroe air shocks installed. Driver side seat has one rip in it. Discoloration of both sale panels on the interior. Carpet is dirty but I'm going to vacuum it out. I never did that since I owned the car. I have not driven it that much. The carpet is worn on the driver side where your feet would go. Eight track player works. I have a bad company tape in there now. Along with the other original documentation, I had the build sheet. It looks like it was a custom order vehicle that had tilt wheel, air-conditioning, and a few other things that were not standard. Power windows work. One of the power door locks is not functioning. Power antenna works. The headliner has a split at one of the seams and it can be stitched back into shape because it's not a tear it's just The threads that came apart at the seam. You can see that there is some body damage to the vehicle. I do not think that there is any body filler on it though. It looks like they just tried to get the metal back into shape on the driver side fender. And I think there's a small dent on one of the quarter panels. Paint appears to be original. No rust issues that I can see. this car is an excellent survivor. It looks like the prior owner did some work like replaced the voltage regulator and starter solenoid. I put a nice new battery in there from Les Schwab. There was a vacuum leak at one of the lines, so I capped off the vacuum port which is why the headlights stay up. Easy fix. Just don't have the time or the energy to do it. My back is injured from a car accident that's the main reason I'm selling this thing. I'm selling this as a no reserve Highest bidder takes it. I believe that this thing could drive across the country and back no problem. I've taken it on a handful of long trips with zero issues. No exhaust leaks. Registration is up to date. Interior needs a good cleaning. The rug has a tear at driver footwell. Headlights, hi beams, wipers, turn signals, trunk courtesy lamp all work. This is not a grand Marquis. It is a Marquis Brougham. One of the wheel well trim is missing as you can see in the photos. Text for more info 8087071821 The car is located in Portland Oregon. Buyer responsible for shipping. Or you could pick it up if you want. I do not accept bids from zero feedback bidders. Exterior Interior Engine Download the Motors app
