| “1978 Jeep CJ5 It's a factory V8 304 CJ. Manual Transmission. Power steering, Power disc brakes, with factory tilt steering wheel for easy in and out. Paint is 8 years old that still looks nice. SEE VIDEO i cover body and paint up close. Paint looks good in my opinion and not in need of a repaint gets many complements. The Jeep has been repaired as needed & full service just done for the new owner. New brakes front and rear, Stops nice. Steering is not sloppy SEE DRIVING VIDEO.. Motor fitted with Go -EFI FI TECH Fuel injection system - SEE VIDEO. Full roll cage for added safety. E Brakes works, Seats nice front and rear. Inside floors never cut on, look good SEE VIDEO. Selling 1978 Jeep CJ5. ( SEE FULL VIDEO FOR A CLOSE UP VIEW AND A DRIVING VIDEO ). It"s a true factory V8 304 CJ. Factory power steering and Power disc brakes. Tilt steering for easy in and out. This Jeep Runs and Drives very nice. New Brakes = Stops straight. Rebuilt steering parts ( No lane drift of free play in the steering ) This one drives nice - SEE DRIVING VIDEO. It a true factory V8 CJ. The VIN NUMBER DECODES AS J = JEEP 8 = 1978 year built. F = Manual transmission. 83 = MODEL CJ5 E= Bigger 4150 GVW. . H = Factory V8 304 motor. Then last 6 numbers the production number 070392. They only built 37610 CJ5 in 1978 so this one would be the 392 built that year. * So everything VIn number is showing "de codes" correct to what Jeep still is today 43 years later. That"s kind of cool. Yes a few items have have been added for better performance, driver comfort and safety. Jeep was low back seats * Now high back seats. Had fixed rear seat * Now flip and tumble rear seat that also removes. Stock roll bar only * Now Full roll cage for added safety. *New stereo with bigger 6 by 9 speakers added for - Better sound quality. Was stock rear fixed mount tire rack * Now Swing out rack that will give space for added fuel can on rear. The stock 29 inch tires * Now bigger 32 tall for added grip, ground clearance and body stance. Both front and rear bumpers also upgraded from stock. *A 12,000 lb power winch added * Because it a Jeep and all 4 by 4 should have a winch. Off road Led light added a must have for any 4 by 4. Stock headlights upgraded to *New LED = much brighter. Jeep had the stock factory V8 2 bbl carbureted on it.* Now fitted with the * GO-EFI FI TECH fuel injection system = 100 percent better cold start over stock and 25 percent more power and performance over stock and it will run in any altitude or angle off road. Better gas mileage and performance. Jeep run"s outstanding now. All electrical in good working order. Heater, wipers, horn work. The temp, volt, oil and gas gauge all work in dash. The Fi Tech fuel injection controller on dash also reads out all gauges and motor functions ( SEE VIDEO i show how it work"s.) The Jeep in dash Odometer and Speedometer still work. The mileage on Jeep today reads 76829.2 . What i can tell you is as a 40 plus year Jeep CJ mechanic / builder that has been over every inch of this Jeep. Repaired and serviced this Jeep. it is my opinion that it is very possible that the miles may be original from every thing i have seen in and under it. (Not selling as a original mileage being a 43 year old vehicle because unless you bought it new and have service records for 43 years with "mileage listed on service record"s" it hard to prove it being original miles. A lot of sellers say original miles and (very few can prove it.) DMV also list "mileage as exempt" on title due to it"s age. So selling Jeep as mileage exempt as DMV has it listed on title. With that said the motor burns super clean. *No white or blue smoke from exhaust from oil burn. No black smoke from heavy fuel issue. (Motor purrs like a cat & Runs like a mad dog! ) No miss, no rattles, no knocks, no tappet noise. *Just a very nice reliable good running and performing motor. *So in a nut shell you get a very nice looking classic CJ with factory V8 power and now better performance over stock. That drives and stops nice. It has a few nice upgrades, not over done, just sanitary and very original in many ways. It"s very reliable, turn key and go every time! . Be a great run around town and off trail adventure CJ for sure. ( It runs strong and drives tight = Super fun to drive). I posted 24 large photos and a walk around video, as well as driving it in town and on the freeway for out of State buyers who can"t view in person. Garaged in Las Vegas Nevada.
