About this vehicle This 1978 International Scout II is an original. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle runs great and is used as a daily driver. Seller"s Notes Can be loaded onto car hauler at end of my street or car trailer at my home and will assist in loading if needed. Scout is now located at my home in Tucson,AZ. Vehicle Details This was good friends who passed on and I ended up with his loved international Scout 2. He acquired it from a old family friend in Colorado in the early 90’s I believe and has been in New Mexico since. Papers in glove box say it was purchased in Colorado . He owned this for many years and drove it everyday till his mom fell sick and he had to put it in storage. It sat in storage for at least 6 years till I acquired it. It fired up and drives but still has old gas running though it. I’ve added emzines and some fresh fuel. The engine does not knock or tick and sounds great and does not shudder or shake. It needs old gas drained out and a tuneup as carb seems to drain gas out of accelerator pump seal. Will need new water hoses as they seem hard an dried out. Engine doesn’t smoke and drive train works great. This is a v8 with 4 speed manual transmission. Interior is ok but seats need reupholstered. Horn button is missing. There is rust through along floor under doors as seen in pictures. Bottom of doors are good and no rust through. Underneathfloor pans look great with one cab mount that is rusted an needs replaced . Door hinges are getting worn an need bushings as doors sage a little and do not close properly. Has some dings and some repair done over wheel wells. Rust through on outside of rear fender panels but inside looks solid. This is a great scout that needs little repair to start enjoying right away. It’ll start and drive so can be driven onto trailer.
