Vehicle description
1978 Ford Ranchero 500 what you see is what you get
This Ford Ranchero is a solid car. The only real rust is around the rear wheel wells and a tiny spot on the bed. There are plenty of chips in the paint, as well as tiny rust spots here and there. The RPM gauge does not work, nor does the speedometer. Otherwise, it"s great. It has plenty of new parts, including an alternator, volt regulator, fuel pump etc. The frame is great, the fuel tank appears to be brand new, and the hubcaps and trim rings are fair as well. The interior is excellent, with a crack or two on the door armrests as well as a few missing knobs (I have one or two to put on), The radio doesn"t work. The split bench seat is in great condition and still locks in position just fine. The headliner is intact.
Its V8 has plenty of power and gets it down the road just great. I drive it every day, it"s delightful. the throttle is very responsive, and, if you"re not careful it will slip with relative ease.
The man I purchased it from is a ford fanatic & originally bought the car for the frame & chassis, to give you an idea of how solid it is; however, he didn"t have enough time to take the body off & finish his project. If you"re interested, I could sell just the frame & chassis, but it"d be a shame to part ways with the body, as it"s in fair enough condition to restore.
Testing the waters. If you"re looking for a cheap, reliable & ugly truck to get you from place to place without knowing your rpms or mph, take a bite. Any questions? Just ask!
Seatbelts!
