Vehicle description

Selling is a 1978 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT regular cab 2WD pickup truck. I purchased this from the original owner who bought it new from Joe Dye Ford here in North Platte, Nebraska. I have the original sales invoice & copy of the original title. The first owner kept track of all of the expenses and documented the repair, the cost, odometer reading and the date the repair was made from day 1!. It is equiped with a 400V8 engine, C-6 Automatic Transmission, power steering & power disc front, drum rear brakes. It also has Air Conditioning, tilt steering wheel and cruise control. I purchased the truck a couple of years ago with the intent of giving it a full restoration, but due to some health issues and way too many vehicles, I have decided to sell it.
I have done the following to it since I purchased it. First, I gave it a complete brake job which included new master cylinder, front rotors, wheel bearings & seals, calipers, brake pads and hoses. Also new rear brake drums & shoes, brake hardware and rear brake hose. I recently purchased a new power brake booster but have not installed it yet and this will go with the truck.
Second, I installed new shock absorbers all around and installed new front radius arm bushings and front end alighnment.
Third, the transmission front seal was leaking so I had it removed, resealed and fluid & filter replaced.
Fourth, the exhaust manifolds were leaking so I had them removed, surface planed and new gaskets installed and while they were at it, I had a new complete dual exhaust system fabricated with a Flowmaster muffler.
Fifth, I installed a new heavy duty cooling radiator with new hoses. Rebuilt the carburetor and changed the spark plugs. Replaced the leaking power steering pump with a remanufactured unit. New heavy duty NAPA battery & cables.
I purchased the following parts and have not installed them but they will go with the truck: Aft fuel tank, sender unit & filler hose kit, tank straps and anti-squeek kit. Complete cab weatherstrip kit which included door seal w"strips, window channels & sweepers, windshield & back glass gaskets and plastic insert trim where required. Nice used rust free passenger side door and driver"s side door lower hinge. Extra tailgate trim. Driver"s side box over the wheel repair panel and the outer wheel house panel. Driver"s side door lower repair panel. New radio speakers for the doors.
I have all the receipts for the work complete and copies of these will be included.
The Good Service history since new. Major mechanical repairs already completed. It runs and drives great! Shifts smoothly and stops great! Has plenty of power and sounds wonderful with the Flowmaster exhaust system. I wouldn"t be afraid to drive it any where! All lights function properly. Looks great with the Tu-Tone Red & Silver Paint and the optional "Race Track" moldings. Original interior which is in good condition with some fading of the carpet.
The Bad The windshield is cracked on the passenger side. There is some rust over the driver"s side rear wheel and looks like it may be starting on the passenger side. The passenger side door has extensive rust in the lower corners (reason for the purchase of the nice rust free door). The driver side door had been dented and repaired. It had been repainted many years ago with the first base coat clear coat and that has pealed all over so it is going to have to have a repaint. The box floor has mild surface rust but no rust through. There is some rust out at the very rear underside of the taillights on both sides. The inner rear cab corners are showing some rust. There are some minor dents here and there on the hood and roof. Dent in the right side upper part of the grille shell.
I HAVE TRIED TO DESCRIBE THIS TRUCK TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE. I HAVE TRIED TO GIVE AN OVERALL ACCURATE DESCRIPTION BUT MY HAVE NOT SEEN OR MAY HAVE OVER LOOKED SOME MINOR DETAILS.
I HAVE THIS TRUCK FOR SALE ON OTHER VENUES AND I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE LISTING IF IT SELLS ON THOSE SITES. I ALSO HAVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE BIDS OF ANYONE THAT DOESN"T AGREE TO MY TERMS.
