Vehicle description
For sale is a restored, modernized, upgraded, chrome bumper converted MGB, absolutely rust free, painted in classic British Racing Green with Biscuit interior. Odometer shows 53,685 miles but actual miles unknown. Only 4-500 miles driven since complete rebuild.
Modifications/improvements include chrome bumper conversion, lowered ride height with new front and rear springs, space age sound/thermal insulation, removal of smog equipment and installation of twin SU carbs restoring power to mid-60s original 95 hp, modern electronic fuel pump, thermostatically controlled oil cooler, large/modern cooling fan replaces two small fans, polyurethane bushings, gas struts for bonnet and boot lid, modern stereo and rear mounted speakers, electric windows, new modern alternator, gear reduction starter, leather seats, stainless steel exhaust.
New/rebuilt parts include - new 4 synchro OD transmission from England, rebuilt engine with everything done to make it a reliable driver with modern fuel, bored 20 over, new cam, pistons, bearings, hardened valve seats, rebuilt electronic ignition distributor, new gas tank, new brake lines and wiring harness, all clutch and brake hydraulic components new or rebuilt, new brake discs, pads, and shoes, and rebuilt shocks.
Original car body/frame was rusty and was discarded. Paint is DuPont polyurethane base/clear in British Racing Green painted onto the rust free donor body, rotisserie bead blasted, rust proofed, primed, and painted. Paint has an even, faint but noticeable orange peel. Finish does have a few flaws - bubbles just forward of windshield on left front fender, boot lid has a 50 cent piece sized chip that has been touched up, passenger door has a 1/2" crack at the vent window. Car does retains some of it"s original chrome that has some pitting. However, it is ready to be driven daily for years in this condition, before improving the paint flaws and chrome trim if/when desired.
7 year old Michelin X Rain Force 175/70-14 tires are mounted on Rostyle wheels with tubes. Car has been stored in a garage and has only been driven 4-500 miles since the restoration, so very light wear and minimal dry rot on the tires. Tubes protect from dry rot blow outs.
This car is in exceptional mechanical condition and the owner would have no qualms driving it across country in it"s current condition.
Restoration was a father/daughter project. A folder with receipts is available. Father is professional restorer, now selling as daughter has husband/family priorities. Clear/clean title in father"s name.
