Vehicle description
1977 Ford F250 4x4 Ranger High Boy Zero-Rust Truck Beautiful Body New Hot Ginger Metallic Paint New Interior Upholstery 400M 2v MT PS PB 68K Original Miles Please, bid only if you can afford to pay within 3 days of auction’s end. No zero- or low-feedback buyers without contacting me first. You may call me (Tim) directly at with any questions you may have. Up for auction is an amazing early 1977 Ford F-250 Custom 4x4 High Boy pickup featuring a beautiful fresh cosmetic restoration, including a new professionally-upholstered interior, and high-end two-stage repaint in factory Hot Ginger Metallic paint. She’s a well-appointed 68k-mile original truck equipped from the factory with Power Assist Steering, Power Brakes, and the Ranger XLT trim package. An extremely straight 0-rust truck with beautiful bodywork and paint, wearing original steel wheels and hubcaps, in well-maintained daily-driver condition. There are no outer-body or other rust issues presenting; this was and is a rust-free truck.
The bed was removed from the frame, the glass removed from the cab, the doors and hood removed from the truck. All the interior was removed. I removed and replaced the bed with a completely rust-free period 1978 replacement, and the tailgate is likewise in beautiful condition. The b odywork was performed professionally to a high standard; I"d say the truck is as straight or straighter than it came from the factory. The parts were then painted off the vehicle, then assembled on the frame, with new hardware. The bed was treated to a high-end Raptor spray-in bed liner. The interior of the cab was also completely painted prior to the new interior installation.
The windshield is new, as are the front and rear gaskets. Original side glass with serviced regulators, new window felts and wipers, and new door weatherstrip.
The new interior features an amazing factory-correct deluxe upholstery package including new seat upholstery, new carpet, new door panels, new headliner, dyed visors, dyed dash pad, and more. Cleaned and painted dash, gauge bezels, cleaned and polished gauge lens, and more. It looks as nice as the exterior!
The front chrome bumper is original and nice, rear step bumper cleaned and painted . The original spare tire carrier comes with the truck. New side marker lamps, new tail lamp lenses, restored grill inserts, restored Ranger side trim, repainted emblems, new lights, new bulbs, new antenna, more.
The wheel wells have been treated to a Zero-Rust preventative coating, along with cleaned-up frame, suspension, brakes, hubs, etc. The exhaust system is original with Turbo-style mufflers and no rust issues, cleaned and painted.
The engine is the original low-mile 351M V8 in sound turn-key running condition. The miles are original at 68k, and it has been recently tuned up, with the carburetor rebuilt as well. The engine sounds healthy, and runs well. The in-cab fuel tank is original and is "the" main tank; the fuel doors on the bed are present but there are NO rear-mounted auxiliary fuel tanks.
The factory manual transmission has been serviced with gear oil, as have the axles and transfer case. The clutch is sound, and the 4-speed manual transmission shifts as it should.
The front and rear axles are the original Dana Spicer units, Dana 60 in the rear and Dana 44 with the big Spicer hubs in front. The truck is equipped with power assist steering and power front disc brakes, both of which are in good order. The brake system has been gone through with a new master cylinder. The truck drives nicely, tracks straight down the road, and steers well. It stops well and straight; the truck is a lot of fun to drive.
The wheels are the original 16” steel wheels, freshly painted in Wimbledon White, and wearing a nice matched set of used radial M/S tires, and genuine Ford steel center caps. New Rancho RS 5000 shock absorbers round out the suspension at all four corners.
While not a nut-and-bolt “Concourse” full restoration, this is a very nice high-end cosmetic restoration; this truck is a beauty that is going to make someone very happy! Payment, Title, Shipping: Clear title in hand, matches VIN exactly for export, inspection, etc. While every effort has been made to describe the vehicle as accurately as possible, it is in fact a 43-year-old classic truck, and therefore being sold exactly as-is , without warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied. While the truck is great-looking and sound, it is a used classic and not perfect; you should expect minor flaws and gremlins as appropriate for a used, vintage truck of this age. Please be ready to make payment in full within 3 days of auction’s end via cash, deposit into my Bank of America account, or bank wire transfer. Shipping is the full responsibility of the buyer; I own a classic car restoration shop and can recommend a reliable and affordable broker who I have used many times. . ultimately the choice must be yours alone. Feel free to call me directly at 360-936-9257 with any questions you may have.
