Vehicle description
Chevrolet C/K Pickup 3500. You"ll probably never see a cleaner original 1977 Chevrolet Scottsdale one ton fleetside C3500 2-wheel-drive pickup. This one will go right from one old man"s garage, through me, to you. Equipped with a powerful big block 454 carbureted engine, it has a heavy-duty 4-speed transmission and a heavy-duty locking differential with 3:73 rear axle ratio. Factory variable ratio power steering and heavy-duty power brakes, which were standard on 3/4 and 1 ton Chevrolet pickups in those days, make this old truck more driveable and, on top of that, this one was ordered with factory all-weather air conditioning (The fan belt is off the compressor. My guess is the original compressor is bad, even though I"ve not checked it out but, included with this pickup is a new-in-the-box correct air conditioner compressor, ready for your installation and re-charge). This pickup has full instrumentation: oil pressure gauge, heat gauge, volt gauge, fuel gauge for each of the dual tanks, and a working OEM factory ordered tachometer. Note the original sliding back window, an option even back then, and the optional tinted glass, something every vehicle seems to have nowadays! This pickup was ordered with the 9,000 GVW Basic Camper Special package which included heavy duty front and rear suspension drive-line components and suspension parts. It also has factory extendable camper mirrors. Note the dual upper and lower body side mouldings which were then optional on the Scottsdale package. When is the last time you saw a single-rear-wheel one ton of this vintage? Most of them had dual rear wheels. The UA1 option was a heavy duty battery; this truck is equipped with what probably is a standard 12-volt battery now-days; the battery in this pickup is new and starts this pickup perfectly. The TP2 option, today, is for dual batteries; in 1977 it included a heavy-duty, high-amperage alternator. This pickup starts, steers, drives, brakes and stops just like it"s supposed to. It has no smoke, even on start-up, and idles perfectly. There are no unusual noises or smells. The transmission shifts perfectly and the clutch is smooth. .no chattering, no slipping, no signs of wear, period. The U-joints in the drive-shaft are tight and smooth and the rear differential is quiet. Note the two-speed rear axle conversion. I don"t know anything about it and have never operated one on a pickup, but this truck comes with one. It also comes with the original ring gear in its original GM parts box, if you want to convert it back. All of the lights. . headlights, tail lights, brake lights, back-up lights, signal lights dash lights and radio lights work as they should. The radio is an ancient Audiovox after-market AM-FM-Cassette, probably installed when this pickup was new since there"s no radio listed on the build plate; it works but sounds nothing like new stereo systems. The speedometer, odometer, and tachometer all work as they should; one of the fuel tanks operates the gauge as it should, the other one has lost its ground and doesn"t register on the gauge. This truck is totally dry underneath and has no leaks. The doors shut tightly and smoothly as does the end gate. The hood is still perfectly straight and opens and closes perfectly: THE HOOD HINGES HAVE BEEN REGULARLY OILED! All four tires are brand new radials, properly mounted and balanced. The odometer shows 36,XXX miles and the title"s odometer notation shows this mileage not to be in excess of its mechanical limits. Still, this pickup is old and exempt from odometer certification and I make no guarantees to its actual, believed, or imagined mileage. As stated it runs very well and at all speeds. The seat is covered and has been for a long time. I"ve run my hands beneath the covers. . bottom and back. .and find no rips, tears or seam separations. The dash has also been covered for many years, probably since this truck was near new. The dash is nice beneath the cover. The door panels are very decent and the interior roof is perfect, bright and shiny. The factory rubber floor mat is cracked in a couple of places and should be replaced. Inside the box of this pickup is scratched and has minor dings and dents. Look at the photo of the inside of the box and judge it yourselves. Over all, this is a very nice, very clean, road worthy, dependable pickup that, I believe, will run anywhere you want to go (in the continental U.S.). The glass is all perfect. .no cracks or chips; there is no body damage; the paint is actually very nice since it"s always been garaged. I have both sets of original keys. The previous ownership of this vehicle never used it to haul kids or pets and, neither is there evidence of it having been smoked or eaten in. I have clear, merchantable, brand-free title in my possession, in my business name, ready to be properly, legally, and lien-free reassigned to this vehicle"s next owner.
