Vehicle description
1976 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon . Condition is Used.
I bought this bus about 6 years ago to use as a marketing tool. Not using it anymore, so it"s been in my driveway under cover. It runs great and every chance I get to drive it, it brings a huge smile to my face. But, I have too many cars so it needs to go. It just needs to be with someone who will use it more.
I bought the van pretty fully furnished like this. I"ve added some touches here and there, including new tires (5 years ago, but has probably less than 5,000 miles on them.
I am not an expert on this car, so I don"t know the specifics, but all I can say is that it starts up great and runs great. I take it on weekends around town in good weather for joy rides and has no issues. On the highway, it comfortably goes 60MPH but anything beyond that, it feels like it"s going 160 in my sports car (LOL).
The imperfections are: 1. I changed the stereo head unit as it has a really great speaker system, but the 9V power wire was pushed out and is not working anymore. It just needs to be reconnected, but I don"t have time to work on it. It also has 2 DVD screens which I never used. The DVD player is built in and the front one facing the driver works. 2. The rims have a little rust. Don"t know if that should be buffed out and repainted. 3. The bus was wrapped, so when I peeled it, it took some paint off the back. Please refer to photo of paint right above the license plate. 4. The odometer is broken. 5. The fuel gage is not perfectly aligned. The full tank needle points to about 3/4.
I have the title in hand. Local folks welcome to come in for test drive (zip code 07458).
Buyer responsible for pick up, but will help coordinate loading and unloading. Good luck.
