Vehicle description
NO RESERVE 1976 Pontiac Trans Am SE 400/Auto. 1 of 1628 produced in 1976 this is the first black and gold trans am ever made. This car features Air Conditioning (AC), Custom buckskin vinyl interior, a tilt column/wheel, along with other options including the Special Edition package. This car runs and drives phenomenally. I acquired this car from a family in Pennsylvania who bought it from the 2nd owner with intentions to restore. He never got around to and it sat for 4 years, untouched in his garage. In his own words he said "the car never left the driveway." When I acquired it I went through it front to back in order to make it road worthy again. The car has a fresh tune up with plugs and wires, new intake manifold gaskets, and a new master cylinder and calipers. This car appears to have never been restored and looks to have had 1 repaint in the 1990"s (assumed based on base/clear coat). The paint shines nicely and is a great driver/5-10 footer. There appears to never have been any sheet metal replacement as the 1/4 panels are laser straight and there are no waves or panel fitment issues anywhere on the car. Appears to never have been hit or crashed. The car is very rust free since is was born in Maryland and was undercoated by ZIEBART back in the day. The rear frame rails are rock solid (see pics). The trunk floor is rock solid (see pics). The doors are rock solid. The rockers are rock solid. The fenders are rock solid. The 1/4 panels are rock solid. The hood is rock solid. Most everything on this car is rock solid. The only rot issues on the car are the passenger side front and rear floor pans (each has about a 5"x5" rot spot (see pics)), a small spot near the back bumper high on the 1/4 panel passenger side (3"x2" hole (see pics)), and the trunk lip (see pics). This car has always been garage kept and it shows with its very original nature. It has never been apart or restored. It does have a date coded 400 block that appears to never have been apart and is also very original in nature. All of the EGR and Emissions stuff is still present. The 3rd owner who I bought the car from thought that it was the original engine because the second owner told him it was the original engine. The second owner bought the car in the mid 1980"s and owned it the majority of its life. I think that the first owner swapped the engine out for a running 400 out of a 1976 firebird/trans am in the late 1970"s or early 1980"s before selling to the second owner. This is a no reserve auction for a very desirable and collectible 1976 trans am. Bid to win. I can help arrange shipping. I use a shipper who typically ships cars in the $500-1000 range to almost anywhere in the country. Do not let the shipping of this vehicle hold you back! I will work with you and the shipper to get you the car for an affordable rate. NO RESERVE bid to win. $500 due within 48 hours. Full payment within a week. Good luck.
