Vehicle description
1976 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ. I bought this car over 20 years ago from an old fellow locally, who I believe to be the original owner. It has 81,xxx miles and is all original right down the the painted pinstripes, floor mats, and trunk liner. This car is not perfect- it has gravel rash on the lower body, the rear bumper has rust, and there is some paint crazing on the hood. That said, it is still a gorgeous car with glossy paint and a perfect vinyl top which attracts a lot of attention at cruise night! It has a silky smooth running 400 4bbl motor and an absolutely immaculate interior (including headliner) which still retains the sweet original GM smell. It is a very unusually equipped SJ absent the center console, no power locks/seats/windows or cruise, but it does have automatic temperature control, AM/FM stereo, and cornering lights. Tires are not new but have almost 100% tread and are in good shape as the car has been in climate controlled storage with my other vehicles. A/C blew cold when I got the car but gradually got less cold and needs to be charged. It held for many years and I’d bet it with a charge it would hold for several more. Needs fuel sending unit (cheap and easily available) which I haven’t replaced as it has a full tank of gas that I would rather not drain! Starts and runs awesome but stumbles for a second when you kick it down so the Quadrajet carb could probably use some adjustment to the secondaries. I want to provide answers to any and every question so don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or for pics. I want the new owner to enjoy this car as much as I have! -John
