Vehicle description
I"m selling this car for my Mom and Dad. We restored this car for them in 2004/spring of 2005. The car belonged to a family friend that passed away. We restored it as a tribute to him. The car was a solid running and driving car when we started. The car was taken down to bare metal and brought back to the what you see today with 2593 total miles since. My Mom and Dad took it to many British car shows around the state of Florida where it either won best in class or best of show awards every time. We built the car the way he wanted it; a fast, fun and reliable car to enjoy. The car has an original British Leyland Dealer installed AC system converted to R134. The car runs and drives like a much more modern car and will easily run with today"s traffic. I brought the car back to Texas to sell for them. I had the car on our DynoJet chassis Dyno today to dial in the carbs and make it ready to move onto its new owner. The car made 91 Rear wheel Horsepower with the AC on. The paint was professionally done in Dallas by Hance Paint and Body Service with Sikkens base/clear. Interior was an all new upgraded kit from Moss in leather. Top was new also and has only been up for the picture for this ad. The car has a custom made aluminum frame with Lexan wind deflector that fits nicely behind the front seats. The suspension was upgraded to a vintage race or autocross level with polyurethane bushings and lowered. Calipers were refinished and rebuilt, new rotors, new wheel cylinders, shoes and drums on the rear, with all new hard lines and flex lines. New master cylinder with rebuilt brake booster. Hubs where all rebuilt with new bearings. The engine was built by Pinnacle Autosports in Decatur Texas and machine work completed by Long Racing Engines in Irving, Texas. The block was torque plate bored and honed and the rotating assembly fully balanced. The cam is an APT VP12 performance street cam with Nitrited lifters. the head was lightly ported and milled to give approximately 10:1 compression and has bronze valve guides with Rimflo SS 1pc valves, Isky valve springs and twin SU HS4 carbs. The block was fitted with Vandervel main, rod and cam bearings, AE Hepolite +.020 Pistons, stock rods, ARP hardware, light weight timing set, performance crank damper. The car is fitted with a Maniflow header with custom side exit exhaust with SpinTech Muffler which makes it sound like no other MGB you"ve heard. The car also has a lightweight aluminum flywheel with uprated clutch assembly. The gearbox is a rebuilt 4spd and shifts nicely. It also has MSD ignition for years of reliable running and a brand new wiring harness. There is just way to much about this car to list it all. . Everything was new or rebuilt 2593 miles ago with zero issues since. Mom and Dad are, unfortunately, just getting too old to get in and out of it and enjoy it like it deserves. It is as clean underneath and as it is on top, It was done RIGHT and is probably the finest MGB of it kind anywhere. The pictures are all of the car as it sits today.
