Vehicle description
Mercury Grand Monarch Ghia, This is a rare, "Grand" Monarch Ghia. The Grand was only sold for two years, 1975 and 1976. It was a precursor to Versailles. The Grand Monarch Ghia came with almost every option offered and had some unique characteristics like 4-WHEEL DISC BRAKES as standard. I have a fairly complete history on the car except if it was owned prior to January 1978 or a dealer"s car and not registered. Records are very complete after 3,699 miles when it was purchased by it"s long term owner on Jan. 24th, 1978 in Santa Barbara, CA at Bob Poeschl Lincoln-Mercury (See original Purchase Order). Once purchased, the new owners kept meticulous records which I have in a binder and prove the very low miles to be accurate. Also included are all registration cards since 1978. This beautiful car lived garaged near Santa Barbara until 2014 when it was purchased by a gentleman in Utah. He sold it to me about a year later. The car is in excellent condition mechanically and the 302 V8 runs flawless. I have had brake work done including a new master cylinder. The carburetor has been rebuilt and tires have less than 2000 miles and are approximately 2 years old. Other minor repairs have been completed for trustworthy and smooth operation. AC is ICE COLD and recently serviced. Heat and defrost work well. Standard and optional features include: Leather Seating surfaces, 4-wheel disc brakes, power windows, seat, door locks, steering and brakes, fully padded Normande grain, frenched rear-window vinyl top, luxury steering wheel, dual map reading lamps, cast aluminum spoked wheels, deluxe sound insulation and ride package, digital clock, deep cut-pile carpeting, carpeted luggage compartment and more. The brochure claims standard bucket seats but this car is equipped with a power, bench seat. I have included a copy of the Mercury Grand Monarch Ghia page from the 1976 brochure. The exterior has a few issues. There are numerous chips on the sides from the long-term owner continuously hitting it with another car door in their garage. the paint is not bad, otherwise. Some of the pinstriping has faded. The heavily padded vinyl top has discolored on top and has a slight split seam at the center stitching on top. Please note these flaws in pictures. There is also a tiny bit of surface rust on the rear bumper. I have not seen any other rust on the car. If you should have any questions, please email initially to make contact.
