Vehicle description
1976 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL MARK IV CARTIER EDITION
This unique piece of American automotive history puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. It has a smooth running and massive 460 cubic inch engine paired with a solid shifting automatic transmission. Power disk brakes at all four corners bring this land yacht to a solid halt with no drama or pulling of any kind. The steering feel is classic American luxury. . super light and easy. Truly astonishing in a car of this magnitude.
This particular Lincoln Continental Mark IV is a specially ordered Cartier Edition. This package adds a wonderful to see in person Cartier Ascot Gray over a sumptuous Dove Gray velour interior. It really is the best color combo you can get on this vehicle. A Cartier branded clock sits directly in front of the driver. The rear "opera" windows receive special gold inset "Cartier" insignias as well.
This vehicle was purchased to cruise around in for awhile and then pass along. In my three months of ownership I have noticed the following quirks. The tires have nice tread but are old. Minor rust bubbles exist around some seams and trim. The heat can melt you out of the car but the AC is non/op. I have not looked into the AC as I live in Washington. The vacuum operated headlamp doors are permanently open. The dash directly in front of the driver was used to calm the mouth of an anxious dog at some point before my ownership. Finally, the rear right seatbelt is missing a small plastic cover. The rear vinyl top has been painted over and shows brush marks.
This vehicle is being offered at a price that takes all of its many pros and its short list of cons into consideration. But feel free to shoot me an offer you believe reasonable as I am anxious to free up some driveway space for my next fun toy!
Call me for any questions, and thanks for reading about this sweet Lincoln! -Patti & Ed
