Vehicle description

Powertech Select Motorcars is offering this 914 finished in Nepal Orange (paint code L20C) over Black interior. We recently purchased it from the family of the 2nd owner, whom purchased it in April 1977 from Essex Sports Cars Inc in Maplewood NJ when it had 8,253 miles. Upon purchasing it earlier 2021, we invested over $8,000 to get it ready to sell. It currently shows what is believed to be 50,197 original miles. It comes with the original books with some maintenance stamps, partial maintenance records, the bill of sale from 1977, multiple sets of keys, and the charcoal canister from the original emissions controls along with a clean New Jersey title. Unlike the vast majority of 914’s, this example appears to be highly original and when inspected by Powertech in Rockaway, NJ, showed no evidence of previous rust or previous rust repairs in the undercarriage, either trunks, etc. The interior is finished in black vinyl and is mostly original with the exception of the radio. This example was optioned with the Appearance Package which included side vinyl sails on the roll bar and center gauge console. Other than the hood which was just repainted and some cracked/touched up paint on the passenger fender near the hood line, the paint appears to be original and in very good to excellent condition. This 914 comes equipped with aftermarket polished wheels that were just refinished, mounted with brand new Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 tires sized 195/60/15. There are numerous maintenance records of the car throughout it’s life including stamps in the maintenance book from 1975 and 1976, an invoice from 1990, then records from Powertech from 2009 through current. The most recent work completed in early 2021 totaled over $8k and included: - Valve adjustment and new valve cover gaskets, replace #4 intake pushrod tube - Replace alternator belt, air filter, oil pressure switch, most vacuum lines, oil cooler with new seals, and part of fuel line - Rebuild all four brake calipers and repair adjusters, replace front brake pads and replace brake fluid - Refinish/polish aluminum wheels and install new tires - Change oil & filter, reseal temperature sender plate and center sump plate - Remove and reinstall ignition points and adjust, replace spark plugs - Install new clutch and speedometer cables - Paint rocker panels and front hood - Adjust shifter - Replaced battery In addition to the maintenance records and books, the car comes with the invoice from when the car was purchased for $5,595 plus tax and tags by the second owner in 1977, who’s family the selling dealer bought the car from in early 2021. This owner and family owned the car for 34 years. Highly original 914’s like this don’t come up very often, don"t miss out on this great little 914! PPI welcome.
