Vehicle description
1975 Firebird Trans Am.
Attached you will see the body tag, to the best of my knowledge the car was originally a 4 speed, factory A/C, presented in "Sterling Silver". Odometer reads 25,468 miles, which I can only assume has rolled over.
400ci 4bbl Automatic. Previous owner believed the transmission to be a T400 however appears to be a T350.
Edelbrock intake manifold, carb and air cleaner. Aftermarket headers, lumpy cam and a B&M shifter. Unfortunately I did not build this car, so I cannot speak to internal components. As you can see, the shaker is bolted to the hood to accommodate the aftermarket air cleaner.
American Racing rims with brand new GoodYear Assurance rubber; 255/55/18"s.
The tach does not work, but I would assume 3:73 gears based on driving characteristics.
Car has aftermarket Alpine deck and Pioneer 6x9 speakers.
Interior is in excellent shape, with no rips or tears. Headliner was replaced, in decent shape with no rips or tears. Carpet in decent shape. Could use new window weather stripping on both doors.
This "bird starts, runs and drives just fine, and sounds fantastic. I would suggest a carb cleaning/rebuild. Rad appears to have a small pinhole leak in the front, however small enough that fluid levels do not go down.
The floors and frame are SOLID.
This car appears to be an older restoration, that is just starting to show its age now. As you can see in the photos, it appears very straight, and the doors and seams line up nicely. The doors themselves have zero hinge-sag.
However, it is not a pristine show car / trailer queen by any means, and I would describe it as a solid "20 footer". The paint is starting to show its age, with some "bubbling", chips and flaking in areas. There is body filler/bondo evident on the bottoms of both rear quarters, as well as the passenger fender. Previous work to the front bumper shows "spiderwebbing", or small cracks at the corners. The trunk pan has several small pinholes as well. I must stress again, that the floors and frame are however in excellent shape.
I dont see any reason why the car would not pass any state or provincial safety inspections, with the exception of the windshield. All glass is good, except for the front windshield, which has 2x cracks on the passenger side.
All in all, this car would make an excellent candidate for restoration, or just drive it as-is!
Please do not hesitate to ask any questions, and I have plenty of additional pics available upon request. Serious inquiries only please.
