Vehicle description
This car is being listed for a friend of mine. Here is the story on this car: This 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle “Rolls Royce / Woody” sat inside untouched for 25 years in a climate controlled garage in South Carolina from 1995-2020. It was owned by an older gentleman who has owned it back since the mid 1990’s. In 1994, it was on the road and inspected in South Carolina with 98,343 miles on the odometer. Today it reads 99,296. The gentleman passed away around 5 years ago at the blessed age of 94. He has owned this car since 1990, I have since got it from my friend and got it back up and running with a lot of time and money spent on the car. A list of things that was done to it is below.
Please check my feedback. I am a trusted, honest seller. I try to represent the car as if I were the one purchasing it online, thus why as well as a lengthy description, I uploaded a video and more photos below. This is an original 2 owner car. Clear SC title in hand. Car has 99,296 original document miles, with very hard to find working air conditioning that is still hooked up and working! This is not a $25,000 restored Beetle. Please don’t expect one and you will be quite pleased. It is priced to sell very fairly. As always, pictures always look better than in person. I encourage anyone that wants to come see the car before bidding to do so. I have posted a link in the description below of the engine running and as well as another link so several more photos of the car.
This car has the complete Rolls Royce package, along with the wooden style side panels, bumper guards, front end hood and trunk kit. People stare at this car if you are driving it down the road. If you choose not to like the kit, you can always take it off without any modification and put a regular hood/trunk back on and it will be back to a Beetle.
The interior in this car is arguably a 9.5/10. It"s very clean. The heat exchangers/rockers and floors are SOLID. The battery tray area was replaced back in the early 90"s. The body is very solid and the paint is probably a 7/10. Some chips/flakes here and there, but looks great 20’ away. This is a solid Bug!
In the past 2 months the car has has a lot of work done including: -New Fuel lines -New Fuel Filters -New Spark Plugs -New Plug Wires -New Points -New Rotor & Cap -New Battery -Rebuilt & Cleaned Carburetor with new seals -Newer tires installed (Less than 10k on tires) -Oil Change & Valve adjustment -Gas Tank cleaned out -& much more
All lights, original radio, heat, air, etc work as properly. The A/C could use some freon but it still blows good air! This car pretty much just needs some brake work/adjustment before it is ready to be back on the road and maybe a little further tune up before taking any long trip. Let it be run a little before any long distances! The emergency brake works and the car runs, drives and stops, but it will definitely need some brake attention before 100% road worthy because of those reasons, I would highly recommend trailering this car home.
Car is currently located in Aiken, SC where I have it to help him sell it locally. If the ad is still up, it is still available. Thanks for looking. Be safe. Be blessed and have a wonderful day!
