Vehicle description
Beautiful 1974 VW Super Beetle Convertible. (Clean, clear Arkansas Title). This bug underwent a multi-year, complete restoration, from top to bottom. The beetle was purchased locally from the original owners son. Unforunately, the son only had basic info on the cars history. I was told that this was a labor of love and his father spent countless hours and thousands of dollars to get the car to its current condition. I bought the bug for a customer who ended up changing his mind and purchased another car. I am selling the car as I purchased it. As you can see the car was not completed and needs various things to finish it up. I"m pricing it accordingly knowing it needs some more work. The biggest item needing to be finished is the convertible top. The motor runs perfect, and there is another complete motor that comes with the car, but it is unassembled. The car does drip some oil, but it appears to be coming from around the round oil change seal. I have only driven the car short distances do to the brakes needing to be bled. The clutch and transmission operate normally. The tires are old and dry. The car will need typical drivetrain adjustments to be fully roadworthy.
I have not found any rust on the beetle. The body is straight as an arrow and the paint is beautiful. I was told that all the brakes and brake lines were new, the master cylinder appears new as well. The convertible top frame is in great condition and opens and closes perfectly (I have the original back glass). Carburetor is new, fuel tank is new, fuel pump and fuel lines are new as well as the ignition system. The seats are in great shape. The wiring and fuse box look like they have been replaced. All the lights and turn signals work, the wipers work, the hazard switch lights up but does not flash. The horn works. The radio does not work but I"m not sure its hooked up. Fuel gauge reads almost full and does move, but I"m not sure how accurate it is. The speedo is not working and I do not have any idea as to the actual mileage of this bug. The blower fan and air vents work as well as the heater. The windows roll up and down perfectly and there appears to be new rubber window gaskets installed as well as chrome frames.
The bug looks as good in-person as it does in the pictures. The paint and body are extremely nice. If interested, please ask any questions to make sure you are clear about the condition of the car. As I stated, the car has been undergoing a multi-year restoration and needs to be completed before being fully roadworthy.
