Here is a rare chance to buy a Two Owner 1974 VW, “Sun Bug” Super Beetle Convertible. The owner has had this car since 1979 and it has been maintained with the intent of keeping it forever. Service Records in hand span the entire length of seller’s care and are available for inspection. Based on our internet research only 300, 1974 “Sun Bug” Special Edition Super Beetle Convertibles were produced for the USA Market. This car retains several features exclusive to the “Sun Bug” model including; Gold Metallic Paint (repainted in 1982), Rosewood Dash Accents, Brown Vinyl Seats and interior Panels, Silver Lemmerz 15” GT Sport Wheels, Kamei Console Tunnel and Padded 4 Spoke Steering Wheel. This “Sun Bug”, has always been Garage Kept and used sparingly for most of its life. Though the Speedometer has been changed we are confident in stating that the car has been driven less than 60,000 miles since new. The Original 1.6 Liter Engine was rebuilt in 1992 and Transmission was repaired in 1997. Many other Invoices confirm the care that seller has put into this great car. The car starts easily, idles smoothly, drives straight, shifts and stops well. The Convertible Top was replaced in 1984, it still looks and closes great. Of course the car does have a few scratches, small dents and imperfections from use but there is virtually zero rust or corrosion to tend to. Also included in the sale will be the original AM Radio, various new Rubber Seals, a pair of, Brand New still in the box Running Boards and one spare bumper.
