Vehicle description
Selling my 1974 TR6. Has approximately 107k miles I assume, not sure exactly and the speedometer is not accurate. This rust free California car was restored approx. 7-8 years ago, and driven approx. 100 miles a year till just recently, when I purchased from a friend. I had a mechanic go through the vehicle, replaced a lot of old rubber, bushings, hoses, lines, stub axles, rotors, etc., to make sure it had no drivability issues from sitting around too much. The car is beautiful, compliments everywhere it goes, sounds good has nice exhaust as well. Has re-chromed parts, newer windshield, and even have a re-chromed luggage rack but not installed, as the prior owner was afraid to drill into this beauty, will provide with reasonable sale price. Newer Robbins top, was stored up all the years, had not been dropped in approx. 7 years, till I got it, and started enjoying the convertible as a convertible. Top is perfect, but tight as its not been up and down much, so I park it in the sunlight for a while before putting it up. Has overdrive in both 3rd and 4th gear, via a toggle near the shifter, not on the column, works well and makes freeway driving a pleasure.
The cons - it is going to need a clutch at some point, and has a small 1/4" flaw in the paint on the hood, barely noticeable, but its there, caused by the mechanic installing the hood after engine work, apparently used too long a bolt on the hinge to hood mount. They touched it up, but it is not 100% perfect. Speedo is also not accurate but the needle moves smoothly, I assume its a calibration or gear as overdrive was added, apparently that is when it became out of calibration. Hope to sell locally, but happy to assist but not arrange transportation for out of area buyers, I don"t have the contacts or knowledge in that area.
