Vehicle description

Selling our 1974 Toyota FJ40. This is an Honest-to-God, Rock Solid, Numbers-matching 2-owner California FJ with only 45,225 actual miles. Mechanically excellent, and a GREAT driver. Factory 4-speed. Factory roll bar. Everything works as it should. We have owned it for over 25 years. 236.7 cubic inch (3.8 liter) motor runs excellent. The top end, valves, springs, hardened valve seats, and manifold were all redone within the last 1500 miles. Weber carburetor for improved dependability, but original carb comes in a box with the truck. Transfer case was rebuilt and resealed, transmission was resealed. New freeze plugs. New heater core. Sits on larger 33" BF GOODRICH tires and OLD MAN EMU shocks. 1-1/2" lift to accommodate the larger tire and wheel set-up. Includes steel doors, and bikini top.
The green paint is very oxidized and has a heavy patina, but still looks very cool. The frame and rails and floors are all extremely solid and rust free. (Please look closely at the underside pics. We have red clay and dirt where we live, and I couldn"t blast it all off at the carwash, without putting on a scuba outfit). There is a very minor amount of rust in the tailgate door, but that is IT. No accidents or frame damage ever.
The interior upholstery was redone once about 8 years ago and still looks and feels good. The truck has a vintage stereo which was installed by a guy named Ryan Westbrook back in the day, who was famous for getting lots of volume from car systems. The speaker boxes have aged and speakers need replacement, but we didn"t want to mess with it. Yamaha amplifier under the seat. More modern Alpine stereo in the aftermarket lockbox (with cupholders) between the seats.
This two owner FJ has a clean California Title, and is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this listing at any time. Lots of documentation and service records come with the truck.
I will be helpful with shipping arrangements, for out of state and out of country buyers. Buyer pays for shipping.
Thanks for looking.
