1974 Pontiac Ventura – GTO Tribute History: We bought this car from a local estate. The owner purchased the car in the 90s, had it restored, drove it for 2 years and then parked it in a shed where it sat until we got it in December 2020. Upon purchase, we were provided with a list of things done to the car during restoration including a complete rebuild of the ’74 Pontiac 455, new interior, paint, etc. Unfortunately, the shed deteriorated over the years, and the car was stored in preconditions. To view videos of discovering the car in "as found" state, and to hear it run, go to YouTube and type in "Two Lou"s Garage". This car decodes as a 1974 Pontiac Ventura that left the factory as a 350 2-barrel car. It has a correct 1 year only GTO scoop, and correct hood. My guess is the car was “cloned” in the 90s. Body: Originally painted code 75 Buccaneer Red, the car was resprayed to blue in the late 90s. While they did the jambs and under the hood, the overall paint job was done poorly resulting in extreme peeling of the blue, revealing the original red underneath. The sub frame, floors, and trunk pan areal solid The quarter panels and rockers are also solid. Both fenders will need to be patched, and the doors are bubbling in the corners. Mechanical: The engine is a 74 Pontiac 455. It was rebuilt in 1997 and has limited miles. It has 4x heads and was originally a 250 HP with big chamber heads, 8:1 compression. The car runs strong and idles smoothly. The following lists what was done in 1997: · 74 455 bored .030 over · New pistons & rings, mains, cam bearings, rod bearings · Crank was cut · Double roller timing chain · Ram air IV cam & lifters · Rebuilt heads w/ new pushrods, rockers · New oil pump · 650 Holley Double Pumper (rebuilt in December2020) N New Fuel Pump (April 2021) · Aluminum Intake · Accel Super Coil w/HEI ignition · Headers and complete exhaust system The trans is a rebuilt turbo 350 with a 2200 stall converter. It has a shift kit and ratchet shifter, and a 10 bolt posi with 3.23 gears. The car runs and lot drives. In January 2021, we installed new brake lines, rear brakes, front calipers, pads, and hoses. Interior: The car had a brand new interior installed when restored, but was stored with the windows half down. The front buckets are in good shape with no tears, and the door panels have no cracks. Everything will need a good cleaning. Other: The car comes with 2 factory wheels (not pictured). Sold as-is, no warranty. Clear title. Can show car with appointment. Located in Scranton, PA.
