1974 PLYMOUTH FURY BLUESMOBILE TRIBUTE " The correct BLUESMOBILE " Lol! what a lot of people don"t know (except for the hard core Blues Brothers fans) is that Dan Aykroyd the writer of the original Blues Brothers script wanted the Bluesmobile to be a 1974 Plymouth Fury. If you go online and search "Blues Brothers Script" you will see so right on page 1. Rumor has it they could not locate the correct amount of 74 Plymouth Fury cars needed to be converted into Bluesmobiles so they settled for 74 Dodge Monaco cars purchased from the CHiPs TV show. Thats why the Bluesmobile movie cars run a CHP style push bar. This 74 Fury was purchased new in TN it then spent the rest of its life in NC It has never seen any road salt so the floors and undercarriage are rock solid as well as the trunk. When I first bought the car it was so nice people thought I was crazy for turning into a Bluesmobile. I purchased this car from the granddaughter of the original owner. It has it share of dings and old man small dents but as a bluesmobile it just makes it look that much more realistic. It is a 360v8 car and then engine runs great, the trans shifts as it should and the brakes stop excellent. It was recently on a 150 mile round trip and performed excellent. It has a ton of new stuff since I bought it, I wanted to change out all the original items it still had for fresh stuff. New items include: NEW OPTIMA BATTERY NEW BELTS ALL NEW HOSES NEW WATERPUMP NEW THERMOSTAT NEW ALUMINUM HD RADIATOR NEW THERMOSTAT CONTROLLED ELECTRIC FAN NEW PLUGS NEW WIRES NEW CAP & ROTOR NEW FUEL PUMP 4 NEW KYB GAS SHOCKS NEW DUAL EXHAUST NEW POWER STEERING PUMP & HOSES NOS working SPOTLIGHT NEW MOTOWN AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN BLUESMOBILE DECAL KIT NEW (MADE TO LOOK OLD) BLUESMOBILE PAINT NEW PUSHBAR (so strong you can actually push with it!) I am sure I am forgetting something as you can see I have sunk some $$$ into it. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR IF YOU DO NOT LIKE ATTENTION everywhere I take it, it draws a crowd. people who know what the Bluesmobile is love it, people who don"t know look at you like your crazy. Lol! I have been pulled over twice, both officers wanted pictures of their cruiser behind the Bluesmobile and loved the car.
