Vehicle description
Auction is for a 1974 mgb with great potential. So the story on this car. .the previous owner was painting the car and there was a float that needed to be replaced so the carburetors were removed to order kits and to rebuild. But the car sat a year and the carburetors were never rebuilt. The car was a running and driving car before the carburetors were removed.
The good. . The body has no rust issues. The front fenders are awesome. The trunk lid is in great shape and the doors are in good shape. The windshield is in good shape and the floors are solid with no holes! The body overall look really good. The seat frames are good but need recovering. All gauges look good. The 1974 had the higher compression engine. The speedometer reads under 19k (although I cant state 100% sure that is correct)
The "not so good" .Carburetors need a little work, they were on a running car a year ago so not in terrible shape but they need at least a little rebuilding.needs a new top (top frame in good shape and tops are not expensive) top of dash in bad shape especially passenger side (you could put a $45 coverlay on it) The car has been painted black but was originally gold.It would be fine as is but there a few small spots where you see some gold so you would want to repaint if you are looking for show car quality paint job.The left rear quarter panel has a ding. The hood is very usable but has a very small ding at edge. The handle on key has broke off, there is enough to still put in the switch and turn.
The car is ideal for somebody that wants a solid body with no rust issues that they can drive while restoring the things they need like top ,dash cover, seat covers, interior etc.
I am pricing the car at a fair starting price.I am happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability.I do not have title only a bill of sale.1974 cars in Georgia do not require title.
I have parted out dozens of mgbs (and I dont want to part this one out! ) if you buy the car from me I will remember that and give you extra special deals in the future when the need arises)
