This 1974 Lotus Elite comes from the first year of Type 75 production and is powered by a 2.0L DOHC inline-four mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It is one of around 2,535 examples built between 1974 and 1982. The Elite features a fiberglass body over a steel backbone tube chassis with a 98” wheelbase. headlights are in the up position currently.
Black vinyl seats with fabric inserts are joined by matching carpets, a 2-spoke steering wheel, and faux-wood trim. Inside is good condition overall. Seam separation is noted on the driver’s seat cushion. The car comes with a good amount of original fabric for repairing the seats, as pictured.
A Blaupunkt cassette stereo is mounted in the dash, and factory Smiths instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer as well as a tachometer. Under 25k miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer, though total mileage is unknown.
Under the front-hinged hood, the Type-907 2.0-liter inline-four is coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The car does run and drive. Since the new owner purchased in 2019, the Rear Diff, Fuel pump and Brake Master Cylinder have all been replaced.
Car is garaged in Knoxville, TN and will need to be picked up/towed at buyers expense.
