Vehicle description
1974 Dodge Charger SE Brougham 2-door sports hardtop. This is a one-owner, matching-numbers, maintained-original classic car in excellent condition. It is located in Washington State. Mileage is 137,300. No smoking ever. The 1974 version was the last of the third-generation Chargers at the end of the muscle car era. Exterior and interior are in excellent condition. Engine bay and trunk are clean. Underbody is in great shape. Exterior is Lucerne blue metallic. Interior is black. 400 Cu In V8 Engine with 4-bbl carburetor, 250 HP and 340 lb-ft Torque. 3-speed Slapstick 727 TorqueFlite Automatic Transmission. 3.23 Positraction “Sure Grip” Differential. Dual exhaust. It uses regular gas. SE was the top trim level in the Charger line-up, and includes triple opera windows surrounded by a canopy style vinyl roof, electronic ignition system, front disc brakes, deluxe wheel covers, day/night inside mirror, carpets, and Rallye instrument panel. Options include bucket seats, console, AC, power steering, power disc brakes, power windows, cruise control, electric clock, deluxe steering wheel, 3-speed windshield wipers, left remote control mirror, radio - AM/FM stereo with rear seat speaker, light package, tinted glass-all, inside hood release, whitewall tires, bumper guards – front and rear, and chrome styled road wheels. Aftermarket equipment comprises tachometer and stereo cassette tape player. A new vinyl top was installed in 2002 and is in mint condition. We have repainted it in the original color in 2000, and the Lucerne blue paint is in excellent condition. Extras include a rear bumper, complete rear taillight assemblies, and a full premium fabric car cover. We purchased the bumper and taillights as spares in case we were ever rear-ended. It is not perfect – minor flaws include small dings on hub caps, small paint chips on lower right rear body panel, fading paint on some badges, light rust on bottom left corner of radiator (paint peeling), light rust on belt pulleys, and hood springs barely keep hood open (recommend using an auxiliary support brace – we have included one with the vehicle). For many years we drove it every day. We made lots of ski trips to the mountains – it handles snow very well. In recent years we have driven it about once a month to keep the fluids circulating and prevent the tires from getting out of round. We are the original owners. It was ordered direct from the factory in 1974 for a total price of $5,437.40. We still have the original window sticker. It has won many awards at various car shows (we still have the photos and trophies). We are selling our Charger as a part of downsizing from four vehicles to two, and to obtain funds for some various remodels of our house. We have all recent maintenance receipts, and many from years past. The oil and filter were last changed on 07/11/2017 at 137,192 mileage.
