Vehicle description
Up for sale is my 1974 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible, 3-owner car, 500 cu. in. engine, automatic transmission, 39,455 original miles, light green exterior color w/matching leather interior, loaded with many options: A/C, power windows, power door locks, power bench seat w/arm rest, power top, power trunk, cruise control, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, Am/Fm w/power antenna. Local car for its entire life confirming the accuracy of the low miles. However, the car is presently in average condition with areas that could use reconditioning. My opinion is that it still looks and shows good (see pictures). The car had been repainted in areas many years ago, before my ownership of 11 years, and looks respectable. However, there are many chips, blemishes and rust blisters from age – most of which are on present on the hood and most of which were touch brushed to conceal and make the car overall look better (see pictures). The top surfaces of the paint have check cracking but surprisingly does not detract from the look of the car. I get people all the time that complement the car. They love the color combination. The interior shows well. The leather seats are original and do not have any rips or tears but do have typical leather cracking and wear. The carpets and mats are older but still in reasonable condition. Surprisingly, the upper and lower door panels are not cracked as they typically do on these Eldorados – they are soft and supple as you would expect from a low mileage car. Unfortunately, before my ownership, this car spent some of its life outside with a leaking roof for part of that time. The power roof works as it should but the canvas and rear window are presently removed (see pictures) and needs to have new bought and installed. I drive it only in nice weather with the roof down and the boot on, so it’s not an issue for me. The c onvertible top boot is in excellent condition. The roof itself was white and the boot is light green to match the interior. Most power options work as they should with the exception of the power antenna, power seat moves only back and forth and raises up for 3-ways working instead of 6, the A/C has been converted to R134 but needs to be recharged. Under the hood is untouched and not detailed. The trunk carpet kit and mat are in average condition with the spare tire missing. The mechanics of the car are in excellent condition. It runs and drives nice and strong. Engine starts up quiet, shifts and drives great. Chrome and stainless are in nice condition, with an outstanding shine like you would expect from a low mileage car, but does have some places with minor flaws (see pictures). The front bumper filler panels have deteriorated like they do and the rear bumper fillers were replaced with an average fiberglass set. The underside of the car is solid with nice floors and frame bearing signs of original undercoating. The car was rust proofed when new. However, there was a grapefruit size patch to the floor under the passenger side rear seat - typical when the roof leaks. The trunk floors are nice and solid. The area under the rear skirts shows no sign of typical weakness even though they had been repaired at one time. Tires are good, as are the brakes. IMPORTANT . . PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY!
