Vehicle Details 1974 BMW 2002Tii numbers match California car, VIN 2781011, now living in North Carolina. 02's are getting harder to find and Tii's are the most difficult. This car is in excellent shape mechanically and needs complete paint and chrome. Complete mechanical overhaul done by many highly sought-after race car/restoration experts in S.CA. Car originally imported by fabled BMW importer Max Hoffman and has largely lived on the west coast for most of its nearly 50 years. Noted BMW experts have done all the work on this Tii. Ronin automotive in Fullerton CA did the majority of the work listed below, Jeff Tighe in Costa Mesa CA, BMW 2002AD in Pomona CA, BMW Rennsport in Romona, CA have over time contributed to the work done. Full Tii engine rebuild. Includes new crank bearings, rings, oil pump and all internal parts to complete rebuild. Converted distributor with Petronix pointless system, new Shrick 292 cam, pistons, and valves. Rebuilt warm up regulator. Kugelfischer fuel injection work rebuilt pump and injectors and tuned. New nylon fuel injection lines. Coated shorty header and new IE stainless steel exhaust system installed. Rebuilt starter. New Optima “red top” AGM battery and alternator. New fuel and water pump and re-cored radiator installed with aux electric fan. New front and rear subframe bushings, tie rod and idler arm assemblies. Full front and rear Ireland Engineering stage 2 suspension with adjustable rear camber with springs and Bilstein sport shocks all around. Front disc and rear drums rebuilt with new pads and stainless brake lines. Getrag 245 5 speed swap with new 228mm clutch, pressure plate and release bearing. E30 sourced LSD 3.91 rear differential, new seals, and oil. Rebuilt and balanced drive shaft with new u joints and Guibo. Panasport 14” wheels and new 205/60/14 Goodrich tires installed. New electric fuel pump at tank. Rebuilt steering box assembly and new coupler. The body has the following done - New carpet - Dynamat entire floor and tunnel - New front seat belts - Rebuilt heater box - New steering wheel and horn button - Rebuilt Tii clock - Recaro Miata seats - New pedal box rubber - New headlights - Complete overhaul of sunroof system with new seals and cables installed. - New headliner installed - Install cold start relay - Install new strut bearing assembly’s Tens of thousands spent on all mechanical updates and have receipts or all work done. What’s left to do is all paint and chrome work. Body was rust free when I moved to NC approx. 3 years ago and even though garaged, the humid environment has created some rust bubbles. Nothing damaging the structural integrity of the car, all cosmetic. Chrome needs to be redone on bumpers. No radio installed but fully wired with speakers in footwells and have 8” subwoofer with custom under rear seat box. I have complete Beher AC system that needs to be installed. Complete with all components and wiring. Probably needs to be rebuilt but have all interior panels and assorted parts for installation. Car cover included.
