selling a 100% original VW Bus. And I really do mean 100% original !
this bus is a virgin as you will ever find. aside from maintenance throughout the years, nothing has been changed, gone through, messed with, rigged up or anything like that, well except for the front fog lights.
I have the original window sticker, inspection paperwork, and every receipt for everything done since new ! this is truly a rare find.
it has 79k original miles. the motor has never been rebuilt, taken apart or even removed from the bus since new. it does run but really needs a tune up as it has been sitting for a few years. muffler is a little rusty and should be replaced.
the transmission shifts great. bushings still feel tight. clutch engages just fine.
the brakes will need to be gone through. again the bus sat for a number of years. tires will also need replacing.
the interior is in great condition considering it is 47 years old and all original. i think the driver seat has a small tear but otherwise the seats, door panels, headliner etc are in great condition. they do need a good cleaning though.
the body in is great condition. there is some rust but nothing major. the worst is the step on the front doors which will both need replacing. also the engine lid and the panel underneath it will need some attention.
underneath is very solid. just a little surface staining which can be sanded and treated. there is no rust around the windows, seals, frames etc. the rain gutter will need sanding and sealing but there are no holes, just surface. all the doors close like new. all the gaps are proper. really amazing how straight this bus is. the paint is original and could use a repaint. or just give it a very light wet sand and spray some clear coat on it to preserve the original finish.
If ever there was a bus worthy of a restoration, it is this one. being 100% original with perfect gaps, easily fixable rust, solid engine and transmission, original jack and all paperwork since new. It would be very hard to find another one like it.
