This bus has been my daily driver for the past 7 years. There has been countless time spent working on this bus by not only myself but my good friends at GT Precision on Long Island who specialize working on busses and other air-cooled vehicles. Over the past 8 months alone, the following has been done to this bus:
-Dual 34mm Solex carbs for T-4 with automatic choke installed -Intake Manifolds rebuilt -Completely new wiring harness installed throughout the length of the bus -Voltage regulator replaced -Alternator rebuilt -New low pressure fuel pump -Front disk brakes completely replaced -Outer Constant velocity Boot/Joint replaced -New axle boot kit -Engine timed and carbs adjusted to run at a steady idle -New tires
Since purchasing the bus, the engine has been swapped out from what was originally in the vehicle which was a Bug engine with a cracked block. Now the Bus has the 1600cc engine that would have originally came with the car. The original transmission has also been swapped out and replaced with a ‘freeway flyer’ transmission with a larger third gear to get up to speed on highways.
This bus has served me well and has taken me all over the NorthEast United States. The canvas top needs replacing and the body needs some love but she’s a turn-key driver that will hopefully bring you many stories as she did me.
Happy Bidding :)
