Vehicle description
Very solid Volkswagen Type 2 Bay Window Bus! This Bus has some small rust holes and some surface rust but overall it is very solid. It will run, yard drive, and stop , but it should still be considered a restoration project. You can"t drive it home, but you can drive it onto a trailer. It needs to be completely checked over, tuning and brake work to be road worthy. Front seats need to be recovered and it has no headliner. It has new tires, a new Empi single 2 bbl carb, new plugs and wires, distributor cap, points and rotor and the valves have been adjusted. I have the windshield wipers and hubcaps not shown in pictures.
I bought it as a father son project 3 years ago , but my son lost interest, so I just got it running and decided to sell it. I have stored inside out of the elements. It was owned by an older man in SC who did not drive it for many years. I bought it not running. The odometer currently reads 42k miles. The title I have is from 2000 says it had 32361 miles at that time and that is was actual miles. Of course I have now way knowing the miles on a 1973 vehicle so do not base your decision on the mileage.
Compared to other Bus projects it has a lot going for it.
Not to much rust, it is complete, running, has perfect nose section, no rust around the windshield, new tires, it has all the seats including middle row, Southern SC car, all glass is good, engine sounds good and does not smoke , shifts through gears, and bakes stop it . It has a clean title. Most project Buses do not have these of these things, let alone running and driving. See video links below.
VW Buses are hard to find most are basket cases or restored models that are very very expensive. (I left the sliding door open in video there is nothing wrong with it.)
