“Barn find 73 Super Beetle convertible. Car was sitting since the 90's, I replaced the carburetor, cap, rotor and put in fresh gas, and it started up and runs. 4 speed transmission, and clutch work fine. Brakes work fine. The car has a 5 lug GM adapter on the wheels so it can use GM wheels or it can easily be removed and can go back to the 4 lug VW wheels. I purchased the car with the GM wheels. The front end needs work as the parts are very old. Convertible top goes up and down fine. Top is not perfect but does not leak into car. The body is all there, but has rust. I have new floor pans and other parts that goes with the car as well as the extra rims, tires and spare. I put a new battery, new rear tires, door handles, mirrors and some other new parts. Everything goes with the car. Odometer says 39,152, I cannot verify actual miles on the car, but I doubt it only has 39,000 . Needs a restoration but still looks cool as is. I have a transferable Vermont Registration so it is ready to go” |
