Vehicle description

1973 Porsche 914 That Spent All of It’s Life In Southern California. This is a Factory Triple Black Porsche 914. The Previous Owner Enjoyed This Classic German Mid Engine, Targa Top, 4 Wheel Disc Brake Sports Car as a Weekend Cruiser For the Last 9 Years. The Previous Owner Before Him Had It In Whittier, California, Just a Couple Blocks Away For 28 Years as a Fun, Weekend/Second Car. The 1.7 Liter Flat 4 Cylinder Engine Still Retains It Bosch Fuel Injection, as It Left, Stuttgart, Germany In 1973. The Engine Usually Starts on the First Turn of the Ignition Key, and Requires a Quick “Warm Up”, as Most Classics Do. It’s Strong, Runs as It Should, and Doesn’t Smoke. The 5 Speed Manual, Side Shift Transmission Shifts as It Should, and New Bushings That Were Recently Installed Makes Shifting Gears Precise, Short and Quick. The Interior is Mostly Original, and In Real Good Condition For Being 46 Years Old. The Custom Momo Monte Carlo Steering Wheel is a Nice Touch to the Interior and Becomes Very Handy on Windy Back Roads. The Gauges Work as They Should, and Even the Buzzer For the Key in the Ignition Reminds You the Key is In the Ignition Before Start Up. The Front and Rear Trunk Floors Look Good. The Porsche Optional Appearance Group Package Front and Rear Chrome Bumpers Still Shine Bright. The Original Vinyl Covered Targa Side Sail Panels Look Great and are Not Ripped or Torn. A Set of 5 Fuchs Factory 2.0 Liter Wheels Compliments This Porsche, and Looks Great on the Brand New 195/60/15 Radial Tires Bought 3 Weeks Ago (Less Than 50 Miles on the New Tires). In 1982, a Woman Backed Into the Driver’s Side Corner, Rear Quarter Panel In a Parking Lot. Not Really Considered a Classic Porsche in the Early 1980’s, the Insurance Company Bought Off the Porsche and Issued a Salvage Title. The Rest of the Porsche, IE. Floor Pans, Hell Hole, Longitudinals, and Body Panels Show No Rust or Previous Accident Damage. The Small Fender Bender 37 Years Ago Does Not Detract or Affect the Drivability of This Classic Porsche In Anyway. This Porsche Was Repainted In the Mid 1990’s With a Base/Clear Coat and is Decent But Showing It’s Age. Paint Chips, Dings, and Scratches are Reminders This Is a 46 Year Old Classic Porsche. If You Ever Considered a Classic 1973 Porsche 914, Please Don’t Miss This Opportunity to Purchase Such an Original Classic. This Would Make a Great Weekend Open Targa Roof Cruiser, Great Graduation Gift, or a Fun Second Car. We Can Assist In Delivering This Classic Porsche to a Local Transport Shipper For Domestic or International Shipping. If You Have Any Further Questions, Please Call Cindy at (909) 844-8677.
