KMR001 Engine view window sticker View All Photos Description 1973 Porsche 911 Here is a very special 1973 Porsche 911 Race Car. This particular 911 was known for being the original test bed for Kelly Moss Racing"s KMR001. The chassis is from a 1973 911 which has been extensively developed. This 911 was purchased by a long time IMSA Pro Driver who had engineer and Porsche Guru Peter Dawe completely disassemble and rebuild the car to it"s current historic specification. Peter had extensive knowledge of this chassis as be built it for KMR. During a time when most of the early chassis 911"s were modified to have later 993 bodywork to support other rules, this car was restored to historic racing specifications to compete in the highly competitive Group9 class of HSR, Legends of Motorsport and SVRA. The Bright Lime Green color and livery is a tribute to the 2-time Swiss National Championship winning car campaigned by Harry Blumer. While competing in it"s current configuration this car won many races at Sebring, Daytona, Homestead, Road Atlanta, Mid-Ohio, Road America, Lime Rock as well as Watkins Glen. This car was featured in Road & Track when it won the overall race during a Legends of Motorsport even at Watkins Glen beating out all other cars in its class as well as the Prototypes. This 911 has been fitted with 1974 911 RSR Bodywork to full factory specifications to house 11x18 front and 14x18 rear custom BBS wheels. The suspension pickup points have been heavily modified to give this car a much lower ride heigh and lower center of gravity. This concept was first used on the Porsche Moby Dick 935. This 911 is also fitted with custom valved Penske triple adjustable shocks, 935 suspension links, full cage front front to back, Kelly Moss racing in cockpit adjustable sway bars and more. The cockpit has a full STACK dash unit with both analog and digital display with data logging capabilities as well. Also fitted is an ATL fuel cell, on board fire system, cool suit system, WEVO shifter, endurance onboard radio system and more.
The Dawe Motorsports engine and transmission are no longer with the car. This 911 is a proven race winner that"s ready to head back to victory lane! !
