About this vehicle This 1973 Opel GT is an original. The owner has had it for 3 years. The vehicle is drivable and is mainly used for car shows. Buyer is responsible for transportation! Vehicle Details This is an Original Opel GT not a rebuild or a rotisserie it is a real deal GT with 72,342 documented miles on it. We found this car in 2017 and acquired it from the same family that had the car for 46 years. The body is solid with no rust in the usual places primarily because it was saved by a thick body undercoating. The car has been repainted with a deep metallic Strato Blue paint job that turns heads at shows and going down the road. The interior is the Original and in great condition and things you rarely see anymore like a Dash with No Cracks and No Sun Rot on the seat tops plus the Boot still has the factory jacking instructions in place. The steering wheel and instrument panel are still in great condition and yes the clock does work and keeps good time also the rear window defroster does work! It has a Blaupunkt stereo with am/fm but the 8 track needs some work. It has a new metal heater control panel but the blower motor does not work. The visors and mirror are new also. It’s as good an interior as I have ever seen in a real GT other than a new one which I was lucky enough to have. As for mechanical the headlights have been rewired and operate smoothly. The hood hinge has been rebuilt with a lube port. It has a new Weber 32/36 DGEV carb and a 2 inch Stainless Steel Exhaust system by OGTS that makes this GT sound the way it should have in 1973. The engine starts well and has good power. The drive train is solid and runs smoothly. But it needs to be driven and could use a Good Tuneup and valve adjustment also there are a couple oil drips. In the 3 1/2 years I have had the GT I’ve put maybe 250 miles on it going to local car shows and driving around town. By all appearances the GT has lived its life inside and cared for by people who know what a Collector’s piece it is. Additional Items : Documentation Book Show Ready Includes : Window sticker.
