Vehicle description
For sale is my 1973 Datsun 240Z. It has 96K miles. Original, numbers matching engine rebuilt 16K miles ago, compression good on all cylinders, the car runs very strong. 5 speed transmission from a 280Z. Shifting and clutch are smooth. Most everything works, windshield wipers, lights, radio, you name it. The only thing that doesn"t work is the clock. Carpet is new but the rest of the upholstery is original. Clean title in hand.
Recent work and new parts:
Oil change and filter
Spark plug wires and spark plugs
Distributor rotor and cap
New alternator
Fresh hoses
Included with the car:
Brand new weather stripping for doors
Brand new, not installed fuel pump
Original valve cover and air cleaner
Original hub caps and spare wheel/tire
The Good:
Everything in the car works and the engine runs strong.
The paint has some imperfections but overall looks very good.
The interior is in great shape.
This is a nice example of an affordable 240Z.
The Bad:
The 5 speed has a common locking nut issue on the 5 gear. The gear is there but the transmission will slip out of 5th sometimes. The nut just needs to be re tightened.
There is rust on the driver and passenger floorpans. The rust does NOT extend to the transmission tunnel or side rails of the car. The car has been discounted to account for this. This is the only rust on the vehicle, the spare tire compartment is clean, the quarter panels and wheel wells are clean.
