Here is a very sharp 1973 Ford Mustang convertible. This one was nicely equipped from the factory with a 351 Cleveland engine, automatic transmission, air conditioning, power brakes, power steering, and a power top. Not only is it a nice driving car, but it represents a nice value in the world of classic V8 Mustang convertibles.
This Mustang was built in May 1973 and shipped to the Omaha area. It has been repainted its original Bronze Metallic and also received a black stripe kit. This car also features dual sport mirrors and a luggage rack. The white convertible top with glass rear window is in great condition and works perfectly. There is a matching boot as well. The wheels match the body color and have original style treatments along with BF Goodrich tires (235 front, 245 rear). It all comes together in a classy yet sporty appearance.
The drivetrain is one of Ford’s best with a 351C engine, C6 transmission, and 9” rear end. The engine was an H-code 2-barrel from the factory but has since been upgraded with an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, Holley 4-barrel carburetor, and Pertronix ignition. It also has a newer timing chain and crankshaft damper. Headers have also been added along with a dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. The reliable C6 automatic shifts smoothly, and the rear end houses 2.75 gears for excellent highway performance. This example is also equipped with power steering, power front disc brakes, and KYB shocks which make it a pleasure to drive.
The Ginger interior features knit vinyl bucket seats in front along with a matching rear bench. Everything is clean and uncluttered, without any modifications from stock. Note the floor shifter and dash vents too. Everything is in good operating condition including the horn, wipers, lights, AM radio, and gauges. The working a/c has a new compressor and is converted to R134a refrigerant. Even the key buzzer and seat belt warning light work! The car also comes with a reproduction owner’s manual, a Marti report, and a folder of receipts.
The classic Mustang market has really been on the rise, making it hard to find a good V8 convertible for less than $30k. This car is not only priced below that mark but also comes with the bigger 351C engine and working air conditioning. It can be driven an enjoyed while providing a great entry point into the collector car market. Vehicle Description All vehicle trades considered, including classics and performance.
