Vehicle description
Offered with a reasonable reserve is a 1973 Mustang Convertible. We purchased this car in August of 2018 with an unknown number of miles on it (title reads ‘exempt’). We have put about 500 miles on it over the last three years. I have spent more time washing and waxing this car than I have spent driving it. At some point in its life it was professionally restored and the Mach 1 decals were added along with the black out paint on the hood. It will come with the original owner’s manual, a reproduction owner’s manual, original sales brochure, the business card with the name of the salesman that sold it new, and a car cover. All paperwork I have on the car will be included as well. I have a registration document that might be the original owner in PA (was supposedly a one family owned car but I have not reached out to verify that). It has a 351 Cleveland engine with an aluminum intake and four barrel carburetor and two barrel heads. The previous owner said it was the original engine (not the intake and carb– it was originally a two barrel intake and carb). It has an automatic transmission with a 9” rear end. It has a power top, disc brakes, aftermarket A/C, and power steering. The car starts, shifts, stops, and runs like it should (I drove it on a 100 mile trip in August in Florida and it did not overheat). The look and the exhaust rumble always get a thumbs up whenever I have taken it out and it always draws a crowd at car shows. The paint job is fantastic. There are a couple spots on the front bumper where the paint has worn away (See pic). I have some left over touch up paint, but it hasn’t ever really stood out to me enough that I felt I needed to use the touch up paint. The top is in great shape with no yellowing of the back plastic window. Seats, carpet, etc. are in great shape (seat belts are aftermarket). It has a Dakota Digital dash in it now. I didn’t like it at first, but it grew on me. The how-to manual for the dash (and A/C) will be included as will be the original gauge cluster, steering wheel, heater box, and a variety of other parts. It also had an aftermarket air cleaner on it. The one on it now is an original 351CJ unit, but it is not a CJ car. The spare tire is a vintage/period correct Firestone. It does not hold air for long, but makes for a good conversation piece. The radio does not work and the key doesn’t work in the door (both of which never really bothered me because I always have the top down when I drive it to shows). The fuel sending unit is sporadic. A new one will be included with the sale of the car. I want you to be happy with your purchase, so if you have a specific thing you would like a close up picture of, please let me know. Non-refundable payment of $250 due within 24 hours of auction end through Paypal or overnight mail in the form of a cashiers check. Remainder to be paid by cashiers check or money order within seven (7) days of auction end. Paypal is NOT accepted for final payment! Vehicle is sold as is with no warranty. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the car is advertised in various places. I can store the car for an extended time if needed. It is the buyer’s responsibility to coordinate delivery of the car (I will help in whatever way I can). Please do not bid if you do not have the funds available NOW. Talk to your banker/lender/spouse before placing a bid. Ebay is a binding contract. Non-paying buyers will be dealt with to the fullest extent allowed. Again – if you don’t intend to buy, please do not bid.
