Vehicle description
Up for auction is a very rare 1973 Ford Bronco Explorer. These Broncos were offered in 2 colors only, Burnt Orange and Grabber Blue. Obviously this one is the Grabber Blue model, and is very heavily optioned. This Bronco was discovered in a Northern Tennessee garage where it sat for nearly 20 years. Both the 302 V8 and C4 auto transmission were rebuilt right before it was parked. An aluminum Griffin radiator was installed at that time. The engine runs exceptionally strong and smooth, the transmission shifts through all 3 gears very nicely. The brake system was completely gone through, a brand new brake booster was added, and brand new disc brakes were fitted. There is a 2.5" lift installed which gives the Bronco a great stance. Otherwise, it is very stock. The seats are original and could use some new foam, but I felt they were decent enough to run as-is. A brand new floor mat was installed (front and rear) as the original was pretty torn.
The front floors were replaced at one time with flat steel (done very well), and there is a little rust through in the rear bed area around the wheel tubs (very common spot). The inner fenders have some rust through, but otherwise it"s an incredibly solid Bronco. Door posts, rockers, quarters, even the tailgate are in excellent shape, save for a few dents in the tailgate. The paint shines very nicely, even though it"s flaking in several spots. In my opinion it has the perfect amount of patina.
The tires are near new, and the grey wheels are freshly powdercoated. This Bronco would make a fantastic daily driver, it steers very tight and the brakes are excellent. These Explorer models are very hard to find, especially in this condition, and this one has a clean title that goes with it.
This auction starts at $100 with NO RESERVE. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction close.
