Vehicle description
Vehicle Details 1973 Dodge Challenger. Original B5 Blue, 340 Automatic. Numbers matching motor and transmission. I believe rear end is original also but haven't checked. It is not a Sure Grip. Power steering and power brakes. Here is a list of what is new or replaced since I have owned it (10 years) . Paint, seat covers, carpet, gas tank and sending unit, front brake pads, calipers, rotors , hoses and bearings. Pre bent brake lines are all new. New master cylinder, rear drums, wheel cylinders, hardware kit, shoes. Has new radiator, hoses and pre bent transmission lines, heater core and rear shocks. BFG Radial TA tires with a lot of tread. sizes P235/60R14 front and P245/60R14 rear. Car is driver quality, NOT a show car. I have purchased all new gauges that are installed but not working Only clock and speedometer seems to be working at this time. I'm not sure what issue is. I have all the original gauges/clock/speedometer/tach which may or may not be good. New dash wiring harness, rebuilt Thermoquad carb. One picture shows a bad scrape on the back of the hood. There is a smaller scrape also on the back of the hood. There is a crack in transmission case where one of the starter bolts mounts. I ran the bolt thru and put a nut to secure it but to make it right it would need to be welded. Bumpers are original and in good shape but not perfect. Wiper motor works but doesn't "park". (go back to original position) Headliner would need replacing as mice had did a number on it at one time before I got it. I'm not sure if motor has ever been gone thru, however I did replace the rear main seal a few years ago. The car runs well, transmission shifts smoothly. There is a exhaust leak at the passenger side manifold, I believe from the heat riser valve. I was thinking about headers and a total new exhaust system but is ok for now. I have a clear title in my name. Frame rails are original and in great shape. The only rust I know is a area below the wiper motor under the hood. There was patch panels welded in during the body restoration 8 yeas ago but no panel replacement. Rear inner fenders could have been replaced but were not as there was a little rust in that area. The old owner had a restoration done at some time that was looking a little rough I have additional pictures of the underneath that I can send if you give me your cell#. I also have a video (amateur) of the engine running. Fender Tag decoding: (E55), 340-4Barrel, (D34), Torqueflite Automatic Transmission,(JH23) , J =Challenger H=High 23=2 door hardtop.
