Vehicle description
Gallery Junction is very pleased to offer this stunning 1972 Porsche 911T Targa.
All of the attributes describe the 1972 911 just as accurately as they would the first ones to roll off the assembly line in 1964. The improvements since then have been many—but also subtle—so that the Porsche"s character is fundamentally unchanged. That is the master plan. And while, in keeping with that plan, the changes for 1972 have been confined almost entirely to enlarging and retuning the engines, the transformation is tremendous.
The car offered here is finished in its highly desirable and striking original color of Aubergine with a Tan Leather interior with Houndstooth inserts. It is believed to be numbers matching and just comes out of a full restoration with a few small cosmetic details being finished at this time. We simply couldn"t wait to bring the car to availability as it is just that nice. Please feel free to contact us for additional details. The following is a list of what was done to the car: 72 Aubergine T Targa Original matching numbers Correct original color with COA Stripped down to the bare tub with fenders and suspension off. Suspension alignment points measured on a Porsche Cellette bench Bare metal respray with correct Glasurit single stage epoxy. Bottom recoated with Wurth undercoating then painted with the body color. All suspension parts black powder coated and reassembled with correct yellow cad plated nuts and bolts. New shocks, new struts, new brake calipers, pads, and all new brake lines. New gas tank with correct color undercoating and new MFI fuel pump. All new fuel lines.
