1972 Plymouth Duster 340 Tribute New B5 Medium Blue Paint Restored Black Interior New ¾ Vinyl Top Built Engine 4-speed Please bid only if you can afford to pay within 3 days of auction"s end. This is a very special 1972 Plymouth Duster freshly restored as detailed below. A beautiful rust-free classic that turns heads all day long. Call Tim at with any questions. I will need to speak with you prior to accepting any offer. This build is the result of years of work. It began life as Grandma’s 1972 Gold Duster 318 2v Sunday driver; no wrecks or other body damage. It is currently powered by a built 1968 LA small block with the appropriate 340 dress-up parts under the hood. Lots of power, a streetable hydraulic performance cam, 4v aluminum Hi Rise intake, 4v carburetor, exhaust headers, electronic ignition, and more make for a powerful and reliable daily driver. The rear end is an A-body 8 ¾ unit built by Dutchman Motorsports and featuring a 3.55 Limited Slip rear end, heavy-duty large bolt-pattern Dutchman axles, new bearings, seals etc. The front hubs were also upgraded to the same size bolt pattern, and features front disc brakes. The 4-speed has also been serviced, and is now shifted through a Pistol Grip shifter (white ball shifter included as well). Clutch and brakes are good. Engine runs STRONG, starts easily, and sounds great with headers and new dual exhaust. Power steering, manual brakes. The body was disassembled as need including trim, weatherstrip, and glass prior to bodywork and paint prep. It was then treated to professional bodywork including stud gun and hammer-and dolly metal-finish to achieve as close to factory-new fit and finish before any minimal body filler was applied. The Duster was then painted in beautiful high-end RM Diamont / Glasurite two-stage base/clear; a gorgeous contemporary take on Mopar’s original B5 Medium Blue factory paint finish . The underside of hood was also painted to match body , as were the f irewall and cowl. The glass is nice all around, with the window regulators serviced and operating well. The wheel openings were then detailed to compliment the new paint. The trim was cleaned and polished prior to being reinstalled. The roofline features the racy ¾ black vinyl top which compliments the blue nicely, as do the new 340 Ramcharger hood scoops and Go Wing rear pedestal spoiler. New 340 body side and rear panel decals round out the black accents. I replaced the front bumper with new (some pics still show old), and the rear bumper is original and very nice. Up front, a new “Shark Tooth” 340-specific front grill has been installed *(expensive, over $1,100.00!) , the headlamp buckets detailed, painted brackets, etc. The door-mounted Sport Mirrors are painted to match. A new chrome front bumper resides out front, with a nice original rear bumper The interior has been cleaned, detailed, and restored as needed, including carpet kit, split-back front bucket seat upholstery, and more. Great dash pad without breaks or cracks. It is more than presentable, very nice in my opinion. The wheels are freshly powder-coated, and have new trim rings and restored center caps. The tires are in nice condition too. I took some of the pictures outdoors, in the sunlight, so you can see how bright the paint is in direct sunlight. . it"s really good-looking. No wonder B5 Blue is such a popular color!
