Vehicle description

This is my unmolested and unrestored 1972 International Scout II. I only recently purchased it, just a few months ago, but now we’re moving and it can’t make the trip. I’ve only been able to drive this rig for a few weeks, and haven’t even had the chance to have the top off. You’ll like this truck. I’ll tell you what I can after such a short ownership.
Cosmetic:
This is a good-looking truck as I hope the pictures show, but this is not an original color scheme, nor is it a professional paint job. I have no idea when this vehicle was painted. I think most guys would say it’s a good ten-footer. There are blemishes here and there, and some trim is not as you’d like it: a tiny missing piece of window trim here, or a missing reflector there. The headliner is perfect (somewhat to my surprise, and thank goodness because that’s a bear to replace, and the upholstery is also without rips or tears though it strikes me as somewhat discolored, though I suppose that’s the result of being 48 years old. The dash pad is cracked, and should be replaced for looks. The interior is fully matted in vinyl flooring. The interior has not been repainted in the current color scheme.
Structure:
You’ll find dings here and there, but this is a dry vehicle from top to bottom, which is pretty amazing actually. I can’t get good undercarriage photos, but when you come to look for yourself you’ll see what I mean. Dry, solid vehicle.
Mechanical:
Everything works except a frozen choke. Gauges work well and are functional, great manual brakes and power steering, windows roll up and down as they should, aftermarket roll bar and brand new tries with less than 25 miles on them. The spare is an original and should be replaced. I didn’t like the look of the old fuel tank (looked like it had been patched) and so it has a new tank and sender as of last week. It"s rigged for both a winch and plow. The wiring and switches are in place.
Running/Driving:
Starts up every time and runs great. The 345 V8 is strong and reliable. Tracks well and runs well, as I say. Cold-blooded as all get out, and even in warm weather wants a minute to warm up. Other than that, it runs and drives great
Ask questions, okay? I paid top dollar for this rig and will take a hit on it even at my reserve. A rare and fun vehicle to own and drive. You won"t be disappointed.
