Vehicle description
I am selling my 1972 Skylark that has been in the family since new. I am the second owner of this car. My great aunt bought this car new. She was a little old lady so it was never driven much, hence the only 32,000 original miles! This car is complete numbers matching. 350ci with a 2bbl carb, and th350 transmission. Almost everything on this car is still original. The only thing I replaced were the spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points, and tires before I took it on a 1200 mile trip. The rear differential oil and transmission fluid has been changed once, and brake fluid flushed once. Tires were new a few years ago. The a/c needed a shot of freon about 15 years ago, and it held for about 10 years before needing another shot, it was only slightly low. About ten years ago I replaced the leaking water pump. I also replaced the valve cover gaskets and oil pan gasket. I painted the engine so it would look nice in the car shows. The interior is very, nice, you would swear by looking at it that it has been restored. The only thing wrong is the steering wheel does have some cracks, and the rear window tray is a little discolored in a couple spots. Paint is all original, overall I would say the paint is very good for its age . The only rust I see is a little spot at the bottom left corner of the back window. Other than that there are no dents or rust on the body. I don"t really want to sell the car, but I feel bad just leaving it sit, I"ve probably only driven the car a thousand miles the last 8 years. Feel free to send me a message with any questions, or if you want to talk in person I will give you a call you back.
