Vehicle description
1971 Pontiac Grand Prix project car. I bought this car in early 2020 for restoration. I am the third owner and bought it out of the estate of the second owner who purchased the car in 1973 and passed away in 2019. A copy of the original title he had is part of this deal. This is a Tennessee car and it sat in a shed for 25 years prior to me buying it, however it storage was very unkind to this car and the interior and under areas of the car were vermin infested - most unfortunately. This GP was originally Nordic silver but the previous owner chose to have it painted Lucerne blue in the early 1970"s. I have the PHS documentation and this is a clean top car.
This is a major project. I did get it home and did get it running, but it had bent and broken pushrods. I did pull the engine and take it to a machine shop for evaluation. The block is in great original condition as are the heads which now are all ready for rebuilding. The transmission worked great but needs to be resealed. This is all matching numbers to this car. The 400 engine is in GREAT condition as you will see from the machine shop documentation.
This car has very little rust and every bolt underneath unbolted with no problem - you have to love salt-free states. I spent days under the car sanding the belly and getting it both POR15 and painted black. The belly of this car looks great as does the engine bay. I am an amateur but took my time in doing the work.
This car needs a total restoration but is really worth it. I am hopeful that whomever decides to buy this car will restore it to its former glory. Simply put I just do not have the time to do this car and hope somebody out there does. I just work way too many hours to dedicate to this car.
I know what these cars go for (both driver quality and high end restored) and have a very low reserve, far less than what I have into this car to move it to somebody wiling to restore it which it deserves. I will NOT part this car out. It is in too great of condition for that.
Please look at the pictures. If you want anything else photographed please let me know. I disassembled the car and all bolts and parts are bagged/tagged and labeled. But everything needs to be restored. This is a project car and NOT close to a driver.
I put a tremendous value on my feedback as you should and am as honest as I can be being burned myself. If you have ANY questions please message me. I can send you videos, pictures or whatever you want - but ask. I don"t want ANY disappointed buyers.
Finally, if you have less than 10 feedbacks you need to ask me first to bid or I will just cancel your bid outright. I am confident with the low reserve I have and loss I am taking this car will sell, however please be prepared to complete the transaction.
Once I am paid the car can sit at my place until you can pick it up. I will put it outside under a car cover and will help your shipper with loading all of the parts. I do reserve to sell this car outright as it is for sale locally.
