Vehicle description
1971 Plymouth "Cuda 340 (real BS h code car). Started life as a Sno White, black billboard, key-colored grill, auto car with otherwise NO options (std dash, manual drum brakes/steering). As the original fender tag was lost years ago & the build sheet nowhere to be found - I had the car restored during last 8yrs with 2 71-correct changes. FJ6 Sassy Grass & a fiberglass shaker setup.
Date correct Non #s match "71 340 J head motor rebuilt professionally - Dyno 337hp, was std bore - punched .030 Rebuilt 727 trans & 8 3/4 Suregrip rear with 3.23 - all fresh 1 mile on all builds. New driveshaft, custom exhaust, complete new wire harnesses, tires on 14" rally wheels, lots of replacement (amd) panels - full quarters, under seat section, full floors, tail panel, rear valence. Rails were solid, original cuda fenders, roof were saved. Body & paint - driver quality (orange peel) & drivers side drip rail not clean (paint not cleared there?) valence & bumper not cleared. New carpet, headliner, front seat covers. Dash is decent.
Car is 95% done but will need some trim added, antennae, rear bumper, wiper arms & bulbs (lights checked). Tranny/fuel/brake lines are new but need a little clean up for full road/highway readiness.
I would add a vinyl roof with the paint/drip or touch it up? Origianl grill has a couple teeth missing & some crack in lower section.
The dash, door sticker & body vins match - clean MA title & a repop fender tag showing the Sno White & billboards as original.
There were only 16k~ total Barracudas made in 1971, 6k~ being "Cudas. . The billboards were estimated to be optioned on around 1/3 of the "Cudas - so maybe 2k~ real cars (where almost every 70-74 Barracuda has them now :)
50yrs later these iconic cars are often cloned but not very many real ones are left. By comparison there were 150k Mustangs & 115k Camaros to the 16k Barracudas / 6k Cudas in 1971!
Only listing 1x here. If the car is for you - bid & take it to the next level or drive it as-is. Only selling due to picking up a real "70 big block "Cuda convertible 4 speed. With 2 cars & 1 wife. . well something had to give :)
Anyone local - feel free to make arrangements to come check car out & test drive. I would rather not take a million more pictures but may post a video walk around with it running for serious folks. I don"t need any free ebay appraisals explaining it"s a 10k car or whatever you"d like to buy it for. If the reserve is hit - it"s yours. Thanks & good luck bidding.
