Vehicle description
The Oldsmobile 4-4-2 was at the forefront of the muscle car movement in the 60"s and 70"s. They built the largest power plants ever offered by GM. The 1971 enjoyed an enormous 455 cubic inch big block V8 producing 340 horsepower that delivers neck snapping performance. And for those who are curious, 4-4-2 stands for……4 barrel carb, four speed transmission, and dual exhaust with the famous trumpet tips. Sporting the favorite color combo of red with black striping and a black interior this 4-4-2 with a full width rear spoiler and correct SS1 wheels enjoys functional air scoops and low-restriction vacuum assist air cleaner, aluminum intake manifold, and a Hurst 4 Speed shifter. The paint is in excellent condition and the stripes on the hood are custom painted. No black stripe tape. This time capsule also included from the factory air conditioning, power brakes, power steering, bucket seats, center console and much more. Also included in this 4-4-2 is the very rare Cruise-Control option making it a highly sought after classic. She was born to be the quality luxury bad boy of the muscle car era. Her pillar-less hardtop looks so sexy going down the highway. The new black interior completes the package. You get new handsome button-top seats, and in-between the front buckets is the optional center console and the awesome Hurst 4 Speed Shifter. There"s plenty of Olds burled walnut applique on the dash, door panels, and console. The three-spoke steering wheel gives you an excellent view of the full gauge package. The factory air conditioning blows very cold air so you can ride in comfort on those hot summer evenings. Under the hood is the original 455 cubic-inch V8 sitting in a very detailed engine bay. Beneath the correct Olds 442 vacuum assist air topper is a new Holley four-barrel carburetor. The upgraded header package adds more horsepower and delivers a low, ominous rumble through the dual trumpet tip exhaust. The four-speed connects to a 12-bolt rear end to make sure all the power gets to the pavement. The correct suspension, boxed control arms and sway bars front and back give this 4-4-2 the right support underneath. Drive it and get the best nostalgic feeling you can imagine. Enjoy the photos.
